I think, based on MSM reporting, that KSM is a bad person and deserves to die or spend his remaining days in a small black hole. I don't really care either way. But remember that this is the same government and media who have spun the truth or outright lied about almost everything in the Global War on Terror.

They should have, but they didn't. Kicking the can down the road is a common response regardless of the party affiliation.
We really have no use for these guys anymore. If they still have information that they have not yet revealed, it's too out of date to be of any use. We don't want to put them on trial and we can't legally kill them without doing so. Not going to release them either. Locking them away for the rest of their lives is probably the best option at this point...unless they were to somehow try to escape and get shot.

I don't know who the other 4 are who are involved in this situation, but I'd guess they're as big of shitbags as KSM. But the no way on God's green earth KSM can be released. Whether or not he's really guilty to half the shite he "confessed" to under coercion, I don't know. But he's guilty of planning 9/11 and that qualifies you for a life sentence as far as I'm concerned. Or death. Don't care.

War crimes criminals in the past have received the death penalty and then had the sentence commuted. Google Joachim Peiper, Waffen SS Officer found guilty and sentenced to death for giving the order to murder captured US soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge.
