Your local Bank. Exchange rate isn't bad.

Your local banks big branch before you leave. I usually get better rates there. You could always use the airport for a higher fee, or an ATM there. I was incanada a few weeks ago, I think it's around 1-1:45.

When I have internationally traveled, I have used the ATM machine for local currency. I will usually use an ATM at a large bank, sometimes at the hotel. I normal only use the currency exchange at the airport on my way back but that is very seldom as I usually have little local currency left.

Do you have a Bank of America account? If yes, then just go to a scotiabank atm and there won't be any ATM fees, but you will get charged a foreign currency fee.

In Montreal a lot of places will take US currency.

99% of international airports have a currency exchange booth or office. Might have to pay a fee of like 5% though.
