I have two dogs and a pool here in AZ.... great backyard however the flies are crazy and mainly just around the door area...
Any ideas for eradication of these pests?

No, but the only and best way to keep gnats away from your face is to pull down your pants.

Fly trap bags that you fill with water to release an attractant work quite well.

Horse Barns use a fly catching bag or jar, check out your nearest Feed Supply, here is a link to order one on line

You can use these.
Most hardware and box stores have them. They smell like a dead body, so you have to place them away from your house. They can catch 100's of flies.

I ordered a 1 acre dynatrap rig at the beginning of the summer and I can 100% attest that it works. Within two days I had a 1.5 inch layer of bugs in the bottom trap...and the bottom trap is about a foot in diameter.

Apparently, these come highly recommended.

I had to spray Bifen, and also got rid of all flowers and fallen seeds that they were eating on the ground

Maybe not the best method, but definitely the most fun.

I'd rather the flies.
That shite really, and I mean, really stinks.
I can tolerate baby diapers and cat shite, but I can't stand the smell of those fly traps.

I am the Carl Hathcock of bug-a-salt. It’s great fun and effective if you have time on your hands but wouldn’t recommend for long term.
