Not from Louisiana, but Dutchtown sounds nice. The Dutch have great baked goods and are generally quite friendly.

I know a few people who do it but it would be a hell of a lot better if I could only have to make the drive a few times per week.

There are worst commutes people make in this area for sure. I'd rather that commute than the Northshore to Nola.
