Had one job i was interviewing that had unlimited PTO… not sure exactly how it works and how they keep folks from abusing it, but it was very intriguing to me.. Accepted a different job before even getting an offer from the unlimited PTO company, but would still love that setup if I wasn’t already working remotely with no need for much PTO .

I get to travel to conferences and meetings that are at places I’d never pay the money to go to on my own and there is always time here and there to enjoy it. Also, having clients and expense reimbursements is always a good time.

ETA: also gotten to play Eastlake in Atl a few times.

Free coffee baby.

Have they tried to switch to a cheaper coffee and give everyone coffee mugs and stop getting disposable coffee cups to save money in the long run?

One day they switched without telling people and had a coffee mug on everyone's desk and I thought people were going to riot. I am not a big coffee drinker so it didn't impact me but the number of people sending mass emails out about what the company makes just from their billable hours going to a cheaper coffee that no one likes is the worst possible way to attempt to save money... They never switched back..

My boss' ranch is only 1/3rd the size, but I have a key to the gates, camp and storage shed.

I don't have to wait on an invite. In fact we alternate weekends sometimes to make sure someone is usually there during the season.

You got me there though. You have to bring your own stock pile of goods when you go and clean out the fridge when you leave at his place.

Most weren’t that great but enjoyed working at the BMC Software campus in Houston for a few years. They had sports leagues and a decent gym for quick workouts at lunchtime or evenings.

My wife worked for Amgen in the '90's. Every summer Amgen held a sales meeting in San Diego at the Dell Coronado resort. They would invite their entire sales force and their families for an all inclusive vacation at the Dell for 5 nights.

Golf, food, drinks, deep sea fishing, tours......they picked up the check.

They really took care of their employees back then.

Employees with unlimited PTO almost always use less PTO than employees who have a set amount.

Places that offer that sort of thing don't hire the kind of people who would abuse it.

Companies really did take care of their employees. My dad worked for Albemarle (he worked there before it was Albemarle) and I remember every year they had this big to do family day where they gave away all kind of shite. The things they would get the employees for having so many safety hours were insane. One year he got a bbq pit. They were actually loyal to their employees who have been there for a long time. And they used to let them gamble and play cards in the break room.

From the boss no less. I'd file a sexual assault in the workplace lawsuit.
