Yes, that is a favorite!
2nd SC light infantry used that flag.(Rev War)
The state later added the palmetto tree in honor of its use in bolstering the earthworks during the stand at Sullivan's Island in repelling the British invasion of Charleston.
Later, Capt. Bush and Sgt Jasper died while advancing that flag while trying to retake Savannah. Literally steeped in blood and history.

Fun fact that many don't realize about the United Kingdom/British flag is that it's the Scottish flag and English flag overlapping each other.
