I highly recommend the video poker business.

Could be.

I believe you need to be licensed as an operator/distributor to buy the machines and place them in locations in Parishes that allow video poker.

Think bars or restaurants with separate bars that three machines can be installed but screened off from public (read children in the restaurant) view.

Or, you could build an addition to a gas station that sells a minimum volume of gasoline per month (or year?) and install 50 machines in what is loosely called a “truck stop”.

Most locations are usually already under contract with local “operators”, usually gaming or amusement companies that also install cigarette vending machines, pool tables, jukeboxes, pinball machines, and video poker machines.

If you can get licensed and pass LSP scrutiny, buy some machines, scrounge up a location or two, you’ll also have to contract with a company who can run some fiber optic cable to link the machines, 3 or 50, to a Louisiana State Police mandated cluster controller, at each location, that allows the LSP to poll the machines daily to measure monetary intake and payouts and if and when the machines have been serviced, opened, or tampered with. You’ll also have to pay a monthly charge for a one way telephone circuit to allow the LSP to monitor each cluster controller.

With all that, if you can get a good location or two to put your machines, it’s good passive income.

Find a storage facility for sale. you could find one around 30,000 feet for about 1.5 mil. 500,000 down, hire one employee. should generate around 125,000+ a year. We own 6 and mailbox money is great.

True, it is insane what people will spend their pets. Set up the right pet services business and it would be like printing money. Some people will waste money on anything.

I've long though the key to getting rich is not to build a better mousetrap. It's to sell a product or service where people are totally irrational about handing over their money: pets, porn/sex, and religion are at the top of the list.

A service picking up dog poop can be very lucrative. Of course you’ll need some place to dump it. Or you can bag it up and tell people it’s cow manure.

I had a vending route with 6 machines and 3 sites. Sold it during Covid. It was bringing in about a $1000 a month before Covid. Sold it to finance my latest business. I usually spent 3 full days a month servicing it.

What? Ain't nobody in MS paying someone to pick up dog poop. They just leave it on the street.

I sold my medical business 3 months before the pandemic. Early retirement is overrated. I opened a salon of suites over a year ago and net 130k per year. With automation it is surprisingly easy business. I work no more than 3 hours a week including admin. The key is a beautiful space and good location. I am looking to do several more.

Invest in indexed funds. And that’s the best answer you’re going to get to that question, because there ain’t no free lunch.

Donut hole food truck. Use milk with the batter instead of water like all these cheap fuggers around here.

Those stand alone ice dispensers. Know someone who has a few on the side and makes a great secondary income. No personnel to pay. Just upkeep/maintenance on the devices…which to this point has been minimal. Has them in great locations near marinas.
