Don’t get wifi appliances… they’ll be dead in a year

But then how will you miss the added benefit of Samsung showing you ads on your refrigerator and then disabling it if you decline to view ads?

Samsung W/D set (about $6K for the set

Wow, W/D sets cost more than 3x more than what I paid a year ago.

Samsung refrigerator ice makers will fail, without fail. Other than that, I've owned Samsung and LG W/D for 20 years, and never needed a repair. Just don't get a front loader.

And OP stop fooling yourself that they're an "investment." Investments go up in value. W/D, fridges, smokers, etc. all lose value when you unbox them.

This board can be an echo chamber. LG front load W/D going on 8 years with no hint if a problem.

Kitchenaid appliances in the kitchen for same, replaced a Bosch dishwasher and the Kitchenaid runs circles around it.

Got a buddy who just dropped a bundle on Thermador. Fridge, range, oven, microwave. I thought he was kidding when he told me how much $$$.

Find a commercial builder supply store and buy a GE commercial washer and dryer. Top load and basic controls.

As far as fridge just don’t get a Samsung.

No such thing.

What brands are the most reliable with the least amount of repairs?

Washer and Dryer = Speed Queen
Refrigerator = Buy one without an ice maker in the door. Avoid Samsung. Avoid LG. I personally have a Fisher Paykel, and it has been great.

Bosch makes the quietest dishwasher. I moved away from my Fisher Paykel to a Bosch 800 series when my FP went kaput after 11 years. If buying a Bosch dishwasher, buy it from Costco. They offer better pricing, longer warranty, free removal of your old one, and free installation of your new one.

Spend the money on a Bosch dishwasher. The no heat sucks, but it is worth every penny. Washer and dryer, go cheap no bells and no whistles. When they break, and they won’t, switch them out for the same cheapest top load wash and dryer will still be going. If you like to fix broken appliances, they are easy to fix, but easier to replace.

Good Lord

Our commercial GE/WD were 1/3 of that and they’ve been doing multiple loads almost daily for years.

A dryer is nothing more than a drum, belt, motor and heating element. That’s it.

Speed Queen for laundry

People shite on Samsung refrigerators but I haven't had any problems in the 13 years I've had mine. Salesman told me not to get anything with all the new bells and whistles. We have an ice maker and thats it. You don't need a WiFi fridge with a tv screen. Get something basic, less shite to break.

Just don’t get one with the ice maker in the fridge compartment. Ours has been an iceberg for years.

Because of this board, I bought a speed queen washer. Wife thought I was crazy to pay that much for an old school washer. We've had it for a couple years now & she's a speed queen fanatic. She can't wait till our Maytag dryer dies!

If you bought the cheap Maytag your wife will be waiting a long time till that dryer dies. No computers, a belt, and a heater will last forever. Congrats!

Same. No issues with our Samsung. Nothing fancy, just French doors/bottom freezer.

This…I think any brand will give satisfactory service if it has old-style, manual timers, buttons and knobs. Where you get into trouble is when the controls are sensor-touch buttons and touch screens.

Sadly we bought the top of the line fancy maytags. The washer lasted about 5 years before it needed a $500 controller, that's when we bought the SQ Washer. The dryer is still chugging along.

Samsung makes good TVs.

Avoid them at all costs on Dishwashers, refrigerators, and washer/dryers.
