Did not realize this was an old thread...but this is proof I tell the truth

Reminds me of a band I saw in Columbia, Mo in 1990 at The Blue Note. Was visiting a girl attending Stephens College. I was 19 and distracted, add to that a pretty small place and I vaguely remember the RHCP. Apparently they went on to do good things.

Most memorable: Bruce Hornsby solo at a Carmel-area Winery with about 30 other folks.
Honorable Mentions: Steve Winwood at NOLA HOB, Paul McCartney and John Prine (RIP) every time I’ve seen each of them (separately obviously), Sting at UNO about 5 years ago, Dawes at The Soul Kitchen in Mobile in 2019-ish.
Wish I’d have seen George Harrison & Clapton on their Japan tour back in the day.
Bad: Nothing really comes to mind. I’m an optimist.

Worst Run DMC @ Lakefront because sketch crowd kept threatening to stab me because I had good seats and the whole thing was general admission.
“Get here early, dumbass” was not the response they wanted to hear. Went for the Beastie Boys. Left thinking I should never go to a concert where no one knew how to play an instrument. And scratching records is not an instrument.
Best: Tim McGraw at the Grand on the MS Gulf Coast.

Best: The Who Dec of 1982 at the Centrum in Worcester Mass. The first of their "farewell tours". They have done 13 more tours since that farewell... They were still young enough to put on the high-energy shows they were known for.
Second best was Led Zepplin on my birthday in 1977 at the Omni in ATL. I went with two older cousins and had a great time I just wish I had seen them when I was older than 10 but still in their prime. At least I got to see Bonham play live.
Worst: any of the dozen or so times I have seen Bob Dylan. The music is fine but he has zero interest in engaging the crowd and the set list is set up to be a roller coaster. He gets people up singing and dancing then follows it with the most depressing songs in his catalog.
Reflecting back I wonder how highly I would regard The Who and Zepplin concerts if I could see them again today. I was young when I saw both of them and they were THE rock gods of my youth, frankly they still are.

ZZ Top years ago in Monroe. Best
Hank Williams , Jr absolute garbage. He was so drunk, you couldn’t understand a word he was singing and he screwed up his guitar playing.
Total waste of however much tickets were.

Best was a tie between Rolling Stones and The Eagles. Jimmy Buffett was also great. The worst, by far, was Fleetwood Mac at the Jazz Fest a few years ago.

Went to a Hank Jr concert, and when he finally showed up, he only played his new stuff.
That’s all I got...

Best- Queen at Municipal Auditorium Halloween 1978, simply amazing performance
Worst- Hank Jr. drunk off his arse couldn't sing or stand up without stumbling. Have seen him other times where he was good.

I can't remember what I chose the last time I posted in a thread like this. The worst remains 30 Seconds To Mars because of Jared Leto arrogantly preening and haranguing the audience. The best today would be Devin Townsend Project on a cruise ship. Or maybe Dream Theater, ELP and Deep Purple. That was a great show. Or maybe Ozzy in July of '89 when he threw a bucket of water in my face and then laughed about it. Or Tesla and Motley Crue on the Dr. Feelgood tour. Or any of the times I've seen Tool or Rush.

Best:
Original 311 Day concert at UNO 2001?
Rage Against the Machine at UNO
Faith No More at EndFest 97?
Kid Rock
Worst:
B.G. - tried to perform Bling Bling like 3 times during the set
Alien Ant Farm - warped tour, late 90s, lead singer kept spitting on the crowd

too many good ones to pick the very best. the worst is a toss up: bubble puppy in about 1968, monroe civic center theatre, when i was 15. they were so loud we went outside the auditorium, outside the lobby and sat on the steps..and it was still too loud. other possible worst was a band playing at Pirate's Cove in Lillian AL. One song was terrible, then they couldn't figure out how to end..so they just sorta faded out and gave up.

I have a confession to make.
I’ve never been to a music concert. Does that put me on some elevated plane of weirdness?

I was there as well. Best concert ever. So many awesome bands played that day.

The best was Garth Brooks.
I’ve seen Jamey Johnson a couple times and he sings awesome but zero energy.
