Teachers suck at life

Your sister sounds like a shitty teacher. It's okay, 90% of them are. Just happy to get their "2" rating and not be fired or put on corrective action. She probably borrows her harder-working partner teacher's lesson plans anyway.
Being a good teacher is legitimately difficult. My wife works 5x as hard as I do and makes less than 1/2 the pay. And she deservedly bitches like crazy about it.

Sorry to be picky but 9 hours a week multiplied by 36 weeks multiplied by 32 is only an extra $10k. So $55k... honestly not bad.
Also, for people saying poor teachers who have to work 10 hour days... who still works 8 hour days in the first place?

Yea I complain and bitch about my job... everyone does. what gets me about teachers is they go beyond that. They describe stuff they have to do like its an injustice... the posts and stuff are incessant.

Judging by how many people are on this site all day, I’d bet not very many actually perform work for 8 hours a day.

So only certain types of complaints are acceptable?
Come on...you are smarter than that

I get that teachers complain, but I see a lot more posts bitching about teachers than posts with teachers complaining.

I superviser an Autism clinic... all the things you describe would be a dream day for what my therapist deal with. When they come to me saying how rough whatever is happening is enough times I eventually have to have the...maybe this isn't for you talk. My job is also why I have ZERO sympathy for teachers who want to complain. We deal with things most teacher could never imagine. I've been physically assaulted to the point of thinking...damn if someone doesn't come help me soon I'm going to be in the ER, I've dealt with 18 year olds who shite themseleves... shite on the floor..smear their shite!! We don't get summers off, only get one day off for Christmas and Thanksgiving etc. Our Clinic is open for 9 1/2 hours a day and then there is notes to type, materials to prepare, CEU's to take etc...
Oh yeah? Well, I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down at the mill, and pay the mill owner for permission to come to work. And, when we got home, our dad and our mother would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah."
(Complain much, buddy?)

People who work off shore, 7&7, make twice that and have 180 days off.

It's beyond complaining... maybe I see more of these type of things than other people, but what I hear that annoys me is teachers bitching that their life and job is unfair, that it's unjust, that everyone around them needs to change blank, that no one else could ever do what they do etc etc.
You have to see there is a difference between man I had a rough go at work V.S. I deserve better in my job this isn't fair and everyone better agree with me!!!

Not to mention, the 3-4 hrs of grading papers and getting the next class prepared everynight.
Bull.
They teach the same exact class year in and year out. If I got to teach the same 12 chapters every year - I would have that stuff done before the class began.
If teachers work 10-12 hour days, they are poor organizers and poor planners.
