But some of them complain all the time.

My buddy is dating one and she has 9 days off that she can take during the 8.5 months out of the year that she is working. She makes 45k a year salary and works after school care for 32 buck an hour for 9 hours a week. That brings it to about 60k. If she was working for 100% of the year that would be about 80k. Yeah, she will never be rich but it is stable and she has plenty of time off. From hearing her talk you would think that she has the worst job ever. It's as if she is trying to find stuff to complain about (typical woman I reckon).

I'm kind of jelly tbh

If you don’t know to deal with children, you’d be in for a rude awakening.

I didn’t realize teachers made that much. I thought they didn’t make more than 30k a year. Become a coach and a teacher

Depends what school district you're working in.
I don't know if you could pay me enough to not shake the hell out of some kids my fiancée teaches in EBR.

I imagine dealing with kids can be stressful. Also you probably bring a lot of work home...grading papers and what not

I invite you to teach one day at an average Jefferson parish or Orleans school.
Good luck!

My wife is one and is seriously considering finding another job. The school systems handcuff the teachers from actually teaching and can't do any punishment. The teachers are fed up with this as the kids get worse every year.

You think teachers stop working when school hours are done? They have countless meetings, functions and conferences they have to attend after school. Not to mention, the 3-4 hrs of grading papers and getting the next class prepared everynight. My sister has been a teacher for 40 years and I see what she goes through everyday. It sucks and you have to love teaching to deal with that shite.

She was literally trembling before a parent teacher conference a while back. I guess those hood parents can get intimidating.

If I was single, and new I never wanted to get married or have kids, I would teach at the most ghetto school that paid the highest

Make 70k which would go far enough for being single, have the summers off to fish, and thanksgiving and christmas off to hunt, and state retirement

No brainer

You make it sound so easy. You act like you just walk into the classroom and teach every day. The student behavior is the biggest problem. You go in there and try to teach something to a group of hellions who couldn’t care less about getting an education, and your hands are tied as to how you can discipline them.

Ghetto schools may pay half that. Maybe.
