BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Bayou Country Superfest has announced it will go on hiatus after hosting concerts in Baton Rouge and New Orleans for the last 10 years, according to a tweet.
“After 10 years of bringing the best in country music to Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Bayou Country Superfest will be on hiatus until further notice. We thank the fans who came for the party, and the event sponsors who helped make the Festival a Memorial Day Weekend tradition,” the organization said in a tweet. That’s all folks

Wierd. My understanding from family members still there was that it was a very successful event. Surprised.

The first one was 10 years ago? I would have never thought it was that long ago, I'm getting old.

Pretty sure LSU didn't want them on their brand new field.

There are two types of country music. There is Country and there is Music.

Did they need to announce it
If it wasn't on calendar by now no way it would happen by May
I'm sure the city wasn't very accommodating either and LSU has a major field renovation already under way which made Tiger Stadium not a viable option

Scale it down and have it at Lamar Dixon

Another misstep by BR leadership. Bedazzled jeans and tank top sales will see a sharp decline.

The problem with a lot of modern country is it’s just formulaic. Key “country words” set to a simple beat featuring guitars and pretty boys in cowboy hats.

I can write a new country song in about 30 mins or less.
Something like this.

Vs. 1:
Just something about clouds in a Cajun sky,
When the sunlight’s shining softer than a mother’s lullaby,
And as it sinks on the horizon,
Hues of gold and pink sublime and,
In the twilight there’s some magic in the air,

Chorus:
It’s
Friday night’s with a farmer’s daughter,
Dancing in that dress you bought her,
Silhouetted by the sun as she spins around,
It’s,
Passing bottles round a bonfire,
Singing songs as flames climb higher,
Crickets start to play as the sun sinks down,
And the stars fill up the sky just like mosquitoes (skeeters)
Somehow a southern sunset just seems sweeter
