I mean, I’m constantly writing. I sing too. Just can’t play worth a shite. I have the melodies mapped out and rough recordings.
If there was a guitarist who wanted to record, I could literally drop 3-4 albums worth of stuff today on him.
But how would I go about doing it?
I would honestly love to just hear my songs played. If I made a little money to put aside and leave to my kids that would be icing on the cake. They are wasted just sitting in Song books and on my phone. I reckon I have at least 100 full songs written going all the way back to when I started writing in high school and snippets of several hundred more.
ETA: just sat down and went through my current phone and made a list and on that one alone I have over 60 completed songs.
And there were at least that many more that just had a first verse and a chorus but wouldn’t take long to finish to completion.
I think I have a problem
If someone could give me some advice or guidance on how to make something out of them, I’d be forever grateful.
On top of that I have children’s stories written that just need illustrations. Short stories. I just don’t rightly know how to go about getting them into the right hands

Still blows my mind that City Park doesn't do a spring festival on the Voodoo Fest grounds - it's a great multi-stage venue for big acts.
hogs used to be there until they moved it to UNO. city park in the spring is a wet mess typically.

Free, I’d be happy to give you advice. I’m a songwriter and recording artist myself in my spare time. Email me at bryndenblackfish@yahoo.com
What genre are your songs in primarily?

Scale it down and have it at the Texas Club
I laughed b/c I remember decades ago when that place was open. Then I googled it and see that it's still a thing. How the frick is the Texas Club one of BR's longest-lasting places?

Country, Rock, alternative and folk
But writing rap lyrics comes easy, as does parody.

They have a solid talent booker who consistently brings in 2nd and 3rd tier country acts and maintains a following with AP and LP trash. Also, there’s really no other venues competing with them in that genre in the region except sometimes the Varsity.

Rap is the easiest to write because it’s the least filtered/structured genre. However, the payoff at the end for the quality and impact of the song isn’t anything close to rock. Probably because it’s not a challenge to fit it in chords and riffs with a consistent rhyming scheme.

I mean there really isn’t a genre I’ve found myself unable to write in. Once I get a basic melody or rhythmic pattern down it just seems to flow.
I’ve literally done things on here where someone gives me a style and a subject and I crank it out like a party trick.

It could be because isn't the growth format it once was.

Do you think that had to do with it moving to New Orleans?

When you bring shite like FGL, Dan and Shay, and Big and Rich every year, people are gonna stop showing up.
