I guess the abject ignorance on this board has finally beaten me down.

Threads like this one make me irrationally angry.

Almost every man posting on here (not you, of course) has turned into a Karen. It's a bitch fest.

From his first day in office, he personally goes to every homicide crime scene. Regardless of day of the week or time. Think about the commitment to that given the crime rate in BR.

WTF does that do? NOTHING and proves NOTHING.

These items are appropriated from dedicated taxes. You can't just move funds from transportation to crime. The mayor just worked on a raise for BRPD officers. That'll help a little bit. I know the DA's office needs the helps also, but that just moves the backlog. The Judges in BR are also an issue which puts these thugs back out on the streets. Would you rather have cops on the streets or a turnstile justice system?

Out of curiosity, how much do you think he should be making?

I've said it before and I will continue to say - - - Sid is the proverbial dog that caught the car. He doesn't know what to do with it.

Looks like you should recall your post based on the downvotes.

For a “public servant”, I’d say 100K salary is sufficient along with the perks. If he wants to make more than that, well just go back to private practice

He gets lots of other perks like insurance, vehicle, etc. 190K is not his total package.

Well, I guess if you think he’s done a bang up job the last 18 years, then he’s worth it. Let’s take a poll on that.

The Mayor can’t do shite about crime.

It’s the DA and the Judges. Elect wisely or you get rampant crime.

Recent MBAs make more than that just starting out.

How far out of touch with reality are you??

We all do.

You’re a fricking super liberal. You love weak DAs.

I know a few recent MBAs that can’t get jobs breaking 60K. They hand out MBAs like candy. You have one I think. My point is made.

Hilar(DA’s Offce) is collecting millions every year from pre trial diversion fees. You get an inspection sticker ticket it goes to pre trial diversion. He doesn’t have to share any of that money with the courts. He also gets money from tickets written in Central since they don’t have their own court like Zachary and Baker.

None of it matters. Qualifying for DA is over. Gonna have Moore for 6 more years. 24 years total and this is where we are.

The judges are partly to blame but so is he.

If you took a poll, the average person on here thinks Trudy White released Aramis Jackson because he promised to do a random act of kindness. I’m not particularly interested in what the general public thinks.

With that said, I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that “public servants” should work for pennies on the dollar of what they are worth. Man has been an attorney for four decades and the DA of the state’s largest parish for two decades, running what is essentially a large law firm, and you want him to do it for $100k plus fringe in 2026? Anyone who takes on the work and stress of being the DA of EBR for $100k isn’t someone you want being the DA of EBR.

The DA of EBR doesn’t try cases. He has a first assistant than actually runs the office and section chiefs that run each section. The only stress they have is getting elected. Oh and getting up in the middle of the night to go to a murder scene.

He doesn’t have the right mindset to be a DA.
