A little trick for those that don't have an antenna and cable/internet is still down. You can use a paper clip in the coaxial port and pick up channels if you are close enough to the transmission towers.

Another little trick. Nine bucks from Walmart. Works great.

For my Oak Hills neighbors still waiting on power. They’ve been making steady progress throughout the day at Hillview and W. Lakeview. They’re about to lift the second transformer up to the newly-reconstructed platform they built this morning.

I’m still not super optimistic about power being back on today. But maybe. It’s still only 2:00PM, so maybe there’s a chance.

No problem. Not much else to do.

ETA: How many engineers do we have in Oak Hills?

bapple said he’s an engineer. I am. And apparently you are.

You hearing anything else about Inniswold area? I thought for sure we'd be up after they fixed the transmission lines and substation...

No. This area doesn’t affect that far down.

I was actually at FedEx at Bluebonnet/Perkins trying to ship something when it went out. That’s how my days have been going. They were working on something across Bluebonnet. Not sure if it’s back up yet around there.

I’d feel some sympathy for you if it hadn’t been six days since I’ve had power.

I always appreciate more engineers amongst us. Paralysis by over-analysis is a way of life.

I went by the trucks around 2:30 and the transformers were mounted. Looked like they were starting to tighten and terminate the cables. Being optimistic hasn’t made a different yet but maybe we’ll be back tonight. One linesman yesterday told me “late tomorrow” so maybe that’s what we’re looking at. Still about 2-3 hours of working time left for them so maybe they’ll kick it in gear so they don’t have to come back tomorrow.
