So this has to be more than simply Batson yelled at department staff? Seems like they wanted a rubber stamp to enable the council member's less than better instincts.

I think Lamont Cole wanted Knightshead for that reason and because he was complaining about how she was running the office. He didn’t like being told how to operate by a white woman. He won half of what he wanted but if anyone in that office was to be picked it was Andy Dotson.

I am 61 year old white republican lawyer. I’ve had numerous dealings with Andy. Great guy and great lawyer. This guy does not see color.

What was a slick devious under-mining move was when fat arse Shaunna Banks wanted to exclude the entities that were receiving the millage less than 5 years from being studied for budget evaluations. The COA would be lone entity in that category. You can guess who all jumped on that bandwagon...Thankfully, the motive was quickly recognized and the entire item failed.
This council is the most racially divided as I can ever remember.

You can thank Banks for that.
Things were bad under the last council which had a number of members term limited out who ran for mayor. The current council is worse because of Banks’ failed attempt to have Buddy Amoroso’s seat filled by a black liberal rather than his widow, which only failed because Tara Wicker has scruples.
