Long time lurker, first time poster. I guess this is more of a PSA for my first post. If you are insured through Armor Insurance out of Baton Rouge, you may want to verify policies. Although this could have been an oversight, I think it may be just the tip of the iceberg considering there may be victims that are unaware because they have had no claims.

An insurance provider based out of the capital area was accused of fraud after storm victims discovered they were unable to get paid for their claims in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

The Louisiana Department of Insurance issued a cease-and-desist order and revocation for Trampus Scott Wagoner, owner of Armor Insurance, LLC. Wagoner, whose business is based out of Baton Rouge, was also ordered to pay a fine for the alleged fraud.

The department said Wagoner misappropriated his customers' insurance premiums on multiple occasions, leading to inadequate policies or even no coverage at all for some of his clients.

That’s why I only select insurance companies that run Super Bowl ads.

Owned my house outright and took out my own homeowners. My GEICO rep forgot to submit my homeowners policy one year. I only noticed when I called in the next year to renew and they couldn't find the policy.

Secretary on phone: "Hmmmm. That's strange, let me have the agent call you."

Agent on call back: "Yeah ummm. I have your email to renew in front of me from last December. We forgot to submit your payment. Did you have any claims?"

Me: "No. What the hell would have happened if my house burned down?"

Agent: "I would have been writing you a big arse check. Good news is you saved last year's premium. Congrats."

Poor guy steals 39k in premiums

BATON ROUGE - State troopers arrested a man accused of selling fraudulent insurance plans to unsuspecting customers.

Louisiana State Police said 47-year-old Trampus Wagoner of Baton Rouge was booked Wednesday on charges including theft and forgery of insurance certificates.

According to police, Wagoner took premiums from numerous customers and never secured policies on their behalf. In total, Wagoner allegedly defrauded his victims out of more than $39,000.

Wagoner was booked Wednesday into the East Baton Rouge jail.

That 39k is what he probably pocketed if I had to guess.

With Hurricane Ida rolling threw, I’m guessing he’s going to pound me in the arse prison for a long time.

That is what the found. This shady arse practice is done on the lower income sector most of the time because they pay cash and English is a second language. This kind of practice is highly common in the Hispanic community.

When you pay your insurance premiums, absolutely get a receipt and keep a copy of your policy/renewal. As someone said, do business with people you know and trust.

Who could ever have guessed that you couldn't trust a man named Trampus. Next you're going to tell me that perhaps I shouldn't trust my insurance agent, Scumbagus.

Yes, it could be forced but don’t you people sometimes log into the insurance website at least once or twice a year? Seems like that would be discovered when you need to print proof of insurance for something.

I’d drag that motherfricker down Hoo Shoo Too if I had to come out of pocket a couple hundred grand to repair my house.
