No one has addressed that there is shite for biking infrastructure in BR. Downtown, maybe? Where else?

I mean, that is exactly what is going to happen.

They have GPS on them. Seems to be working fine in NOLA.

BR needs to get the scooters I've been seeing around here. Same concept, except with more head injuries

A friend sent me a snap of folks riding some Birds in BR last week.

Was in DC all of last week. The Bike share and mostly the scooter share was awesome. DC is a pedestrian friendly city that benefits with the shares. BR? Not sure how this will turn out except bad.

Yea, the bikes were all the rage in Dallas last year but now its all scooters. I see a lot of people riding them so I guess they are working for the rental companies. I've only heard of 1 death so far.

Typical BR responses.

Just keep on with the status quo, BR. It’s worked so well thus far

wisdom guided by experience. I suppose we could all clap and sing songs, but the disappointment would only be magnified when the bikes end up missing.

Riddle me this Mary Sunshine, what makes you or anyone else think that this is a good fit for BR? I know it works in major cities. But why is it assumed the same success will be had in a city that isn't near the size or scope of Chicago, Atlanta, etc.?

and before you get your undies in a knot, I'm not being a smart arse, I'm simply asking a question.

First of all, I go commando. Nothing to knot.

Second, I think it’s refreshing to see BR do ANYTHING that moves it in the right direction. Now, are these bikes a “perfect fit” for BR? Maybe, probably not. But it’s certainly not a step backward or stagnation, so it’s something to at least try and not shite all over it the second it’s announced. And believe me, no one was comparing its potential in BR to Atlanta or Chicago.

I think certain areas of the city could benefit from them, not most though.

thanks for the civil response. You make a valid point that at least its a step forward.

different perspectives, tho. I don't see anyone shitting on the project. Just taking advantage of an opportunity to make a joke.

I see folks on them all the time in Nola. They’re expensive to use though.

These are common in Chicago during the summer.

Not sure how it will work in Louisiana due to its narrow roads and propensity for hitting cyclists.

They are worthless. So, never. The parts are proprietary, and they can lock them up or they lock up automatically at a certain speed and distance.
