I know a guy who would walk into a bar and beeline to the first one he fancies. He usually did this within 2 minutes after scanning the ladies there. Surprisingly, this tactic worked well for him….

They were, but I am not sure how much of that was from mismanaging the bar themselves, hiring someone to be in charge and letting them sort of run with it, or personal issues. Around the time they sold the bar (don't recall if before or after) they divorced.
But from knowing them from before they owned it the first time (previously owned the bar, sold it, then bought it back years later), they knew what they were doing behind the bar and in the kitchen. But that does not always translate into being successful managers/owners.
Don't recall how quickly they changed it back, but know they waited until 1 day after they were legally obligated to keep it the way Bar Rescue set it up. They both hated what John did with the place, but agreed they needed some help

Yeah and the tales that came out of that were pretty funny. 100% staged, they had a former bartender that was by all accounts a great guy come in and act like a jerk that they needed to fire, pure acting job.
They changed it to The Raven, which lasted like 2 months before changing back to TJs
I figured that stuff was acting, same with Tapper throwing glasses and stuff when he gets mad. But they actually renovate the places.
Right?

Living in Waco, you become extremely jaded with any reality type show based on my personal knowledge of Fixer Upper. Bar Rescue looks like a carbon copy.
Off topic but I know of a couple people that were on that hometown makeover show in laurel and I’ve heard those people are salt of the earth and actually do good work.
Bar rescue is entertaining but yea definitely seems scripted

As far as I know yes. They get some new equipment too

I like the show as far as a neat trip all over into these places but the yelling and histrionics get old.

you can see the fake during the episode.... they contrive shite for Taffer to yell about cause I guess that's the product. My tipping point was when they went to a beer bar and started pouring beers down the sink cause they werent being poured exactly right... come on.
Wrong cocktail pour it out, fly in the drink our it out. Beer wasnt poured at the right angle... .05% of people are going to give a shite.
Also, the rebrands are terrible imo. Most end up looking like something you'd find on a carnival cruise ship

I knew them as well. It was definitely staged but they are now divorced.

They did the old Pineapple Hill bar in Tustin, now the Renz Social House.
I briefly dated the owner way back when she was a lingerie bar worker.
She ran for Governor when we recalled Gray Davis (Schwarzenegger the RINO won)
She's a real go-getter.

There's one a few miles from me that I go to every two weeks.
Ownership/management is always there, never drinking. The corners that I see cut elsewhere with overpours, not opening tabs, etc., are not present there, and the Bar Rescue was years ago.
Obviously the show is scripted, but the impact seems to last in at least some cases.

Same thing with Gordon Ramsey and Oceana. My cousin was there the night they did all the stuff of how bad everything sucked. They were told to ham it up and send back food that overall was not all that bad

T-bones is next on my list of Houston bars most likely to have bar rescue show up and ruin
Haven’t been there in years, but I remember they had a good steak night and decent crawfish. I’m sure the bars around the corner on 19th and 20th have hurt their business
