What a joke. It's a weak cold at this point for most (if even that). People have no brains. At this point, everybody pretty much has it anyway. Masks ain't significantly helping anything since they are a few weeks behind the new strain spreading everywhere anyway.

Make sense… everything I’ve read says NOLA peaked a couple weeks ago and are on the downside

That parade should have been cancelled 20 years ago.

Avegno alluded to it at the end of her press conference. She flat out said this surge would hopefully be coming to an end right up against when people will start coming in from other areas with lower vax rates and no mask mandates and that they might have to act further.

The comments on the article the other day saying Toya has no plans to cancel MG were all people melting about how she should

Meh, I wager this changes <5% of the population's behavior

Everyone clamoring for this mandate in Nola was already wearing them

The people that are staunchly anti-mask will continue not wearing them and nobody will really enforce it (YMMV)

High fives all around at the Mayor's favorite bar in two weeks when nothing changes. Feels pretty futile

NOLA had almost zero voter participation for the mayoral election. And those that did show up voted around 70% for teedy.

They keep throwing out that the ER is overrun, the problem is it's overrun with people who are going there to get tested who more than likely don't have major symptoms.

100%

Huntsville Hospital has started pretty much begging people with the sniffles to not come to the ER. They went so far as publicly stating in a press release that if you have mild cold-like symptoms and don't have a PCD or can't go to a clinic you should just stay home and not come to the ER.

Every Tom and hairy dick around has been going to the damn ER for a test when they have mild or no symptoms. It is just fricking ignorant.

Yep. Probably cancelled because they can’t get enough participation

I’m going to go ahead and consider fairgrounds an outside activity and dare anyone to say anything.

Though…

When they price gouged us to get in on Louisiana derby day during the mandate last year I saw maybe 7 people abiding. And nobody said anything to those without masks.

I fricking hate this state.

Didn’t LsuPride say this wouldn’t happen?

Would you like to link that? I’ll wait

I was surprised Nola ever lifted the mandate in the first place
