Solution -- Don't be average.
FWIW - the VAST MAJORITY of this country is a bunch of lazy, stupid fricks. No offense, but it is true.
Perk up young man. Life is tough, if it was easy no one would appreciate the great things.
Work hard, plan for the future. Don't live above your means. It is not what you make, it is what you spend.
Again, your competition is fat, stupid, and lazy.; If you try hard and make smart decisions, you should be able to rise to the top.

I believe this to be one of the most sincerely depressing questions I've ever heard... if you're not trolling for hits. I can not even fathom the life you must have had growing up or being raised to make that statement earnestly, and ask for honest replies.
I feel bad for you if you put that much value in looks and monetary wealth.

Couldn’t imagine being ugly, but I was also happy when I wasn’t in the top 10%. The 10% is better and the 4% is better than better, but nonetheless you can be happy being 25% - 50% above median income in your location.

ignoring the societal value of looks and wealth is pretty ignorant bro
looks impact your life socially, romantically, and professionally and being born poor is also an obstacle few overcome

I am not blaming social media for everything and to some degree I think social media has made people more aware of depression and that it is a real thing that people truly suffer with.. But the idea that living an average life is depressing is contributed to social media.
People see others doing something so they feel left out if they don't do it, so then that becomes a goal of theirs.
I have a heroin addict cousin who was married to this dude, she handled all of his money, he found out she drained the bank account to buy drugs. She gets knocked up and has a kid. The dude's mom talked sense into him to get a divorce and get the kid out of the toxic situation.
He does. For like three years he has custody of the kid, had him in a good school, etc, etc. Then he decides to get back with her. She is nuts. Someone sends me something she posted on facebook. A picture of her and him playing softball or some shite.. And people are commenting "perfect life! I need to find someone who will do these things with me".
My point? People post the good things going on in their life. People look at FB or whatever other social media they use and they see all of these good things people are doing. All of a sudden their life seems average.
You stupid frick, you started this thread and then you going to reply to me "being in a wheelchair- blame social media".
My reply wasn't to depression as a whole, it was to your dumb fricking post about how you thinking the average life is depressing. I am sorry you can appreciate what you have. Be thankful you have the life you do, because no matter how bad anyone of us thinks we have it, there are people out there who has it a lot worse..

Actually, being born poor , is an obstacle MOST overcome (in the USA). That’s the beauty and fluidity of capitalism. Upward mobility over time. So while the rich actually do get richer, the poor get richer too.
