re: Australia's ban on guns did not lower violent crimes, murders, or suicides

TOPS guy specifically said he didn’t want to die. He would rather 3 hot meals a day and a bed to sleep in, with free health care.
He is an outlier. Regardless, we would all be better off if the SWAT team put a bullet in his head so he stopped wasting everyone else’s oxygen.

you're right the only option is continue to let kids die.

Some of you are really bad at making valid points so you resort to stupid "gotcha" attempts

New gun laws won't stop criminals or the mentally ill, it will only punish law abiding citizens.
Common sense is free, virtue signaling so you can feel warm and fuzzy inside is stupid.

In Australia, only criminals have guns, just like the leftists would have it here.

Then why don't we address why this happens instead of the tool?
Why has this country had easy access to firearms since its founding, yet mass shootings were very rare, with school mass shootings even rarer until relatively recently? What changed?
These are the questions that should be answered by reasoned and rational adults. No responded to with emotional twattle devoid of any actual thought as to the problem and why it exists.

I know you are not responding to me, but I've always considered that todays mass murderers would have been the serial killers of the 40s through 70s
we had more serial killers then because it was easier to evade police, but now with technology, serial killers just resort to single mass killing events because they know they would get caught too quickly with multiple events
I don't know, thats my very shallow theory that sounds good in my average mind

Does anyone really think the psychopath that shot up the elementary school would have said "Gee, I can't get an AR15, guess I can't do it"? Anyone who thinks that is as dumb as a box. There is a deeper problem with modern society.

Strange that a lot of people that support banning guns to "protect the children" also think abortion should be legal.

Maybe, but I'd rather we curb the lunatics who commit these acts in the first place, not one of their choices of weapon. Most of these mentally ill were on police or fbi radar, yet free to be among us and our children. All mass shooters were on someone's radar. Even when reported to police, police/fbi don't have the authority to stop someone who hasn't physically committed a crime yet.
Establishing the grounds for which we force someone into treatment or permanently put them in some mental institution is not easy, but thats the only somewhat viable option. If we can't agree to some reasonable grounds for that, then I vote we move forward just accepting g that this will happen from time to time.

If this is about protecting kids lives (it isnt), than we'd be better off tightening up swimming pool regulations than gun regulations.
Its a constitutionally protected right. Shall not be infringed. Let's start by just enforcing the laws already on the books before we talk about new laws.

Serial killers were typically older, the school shooters are young.
Its an unpopular opinion, but I really believe it has to do with the rapid increase in SSRIs and ADHD meds given out to kids since the late 80s. Little Johnny won't sit still so we jam some pills in his mouth to shut off parts of his brain for 12 years. Is it really that much of a stretch that these pills are potentially shutting down parts of the brain needed for compassion/mercy/empathy?

I guess once a child is born conservatives don't give a shite about that kid anymore.

absolutely not
we literally give them pills to numb them and then wonder why they lack empathy

True just a bizarre coincidence the country with the most guns and most lenient gun laws in the developed world also happens to have the most mass shootings by miles.
Ok, so what do you propose? Do not say "common sense" gun laws either.
