I went back last year and it was shocking how much has changed since I moved away in 2014. I mean East 6th is basically the new West 6th.

I know people have different preferences but Nola is much better in my opinion
Austin was better ten years ago than I'm it's current form
I like that Nola does not have booming industry.

The Texas Hill Country is awesome.

I lived in Austin for about four years...it was fun, but I'm not sure I would move back. I'd move to New Orleans before moving back to Austin, all things equal.

Very true. Good hunting and other outdoors activities too.

Let us talks suburbs
Kenner and Metairie vs. Round Rock and Georgetown
Is there any real comparison?
Also, does Austin have any Westbank equivalent?

Rather not.
I would live in Aleppo before moving to a suburb.

Covington is an hour from the center of NOLA
Georgetown is 30 minutes from center of Austin
I would not consider Covington a suburb of NOLA

We only go to Austin twice a year. Once for New Years for 4 days and in the spring. We always have a great time and enjoy the city. We are pretty much in the area near Mozarts on Lake Austin, but we certainly could not afford to live in that area though.
I understand the hate for TX on this board, but shocked. I guess New Orleans has excellent public schools. Is Austin crumbling like New Orleans is with the water and sewer district and flooding for an afternoon rain spritzer?

Nola is far from dying dude. Wtf
This site is so weird
I like the small city vibe and the unique charm that comes along with it.
Austin has lost that and I hope Nola never does
