This is not in Austin. This is Lake Travis which is outside of Austin much closer to Cedar Park. This would be like me posting a picture of a bayou and saying isn't Baton Rouge or New Orleans grand.
This is town lake aka the Colorado River which is a glorified little river. You probably climbed Mt Bonnell and if you did everything on the other side is not Austin. Everything behind you is Austin which is a big of concrete. Rivers in a city are not that unique or special. You are lucky your parked car was not broken into.
Again another picture of a place outside of Austin. Good luck getting to this place and coming back due to traffic. Better leave 1 hour ahead of time. Watch out for homeless shelters in the woods.

Where is that? That looks like outside of Austin. And just because a place has an Austin mailing address does not mean it is inside of Austin. Look at which school district that your property tax pays for and is that school an Austin school.
I get what you are saying but Austin suburbs are pretty ordinary and have similar traffic issues as Austin. Why would you move there if you are “Not” going to live in Austin.

Sorry bub, but Mt. Bonnell is inside the city limits. It's just west of Mopac, but not far west enough to be considered part of Westlake or Bee Cave. We also have Zilker Park, Auditorium Shores, Barton Springs, Pease Park, multiple greenbelts, and dozens of miles of hike/bike/walking trails. You obviously have some beef against Austin, and that's fine, but at least get your facts straight. Austin may be many things, but a concrete jungle it's not.
By the way, I'm more likely to get my car broken into in NOLA than I am anywhere in Austin. I suggest you not bring up crime when comparing NOLA with Austin.

I think that’s probably on one of the green belts. The main one off of Capital of Texas has falls and a swimming hole. I’ve taken my dog there many times.

No they weren't. There were probably more high profile, non drug related murders. Hell, some restaurant owners were slaughtered in a robbery headed up by a chick on the police force.

Nope. Not even remotely as bad today as it was then.
Other violent crimes are also down 50% from the high in the mid 90s. Could it be better? Sure, but I used to run from my door to my car and my car to my door at night in the 90s.

I believe I hiked Mt. Bonnell two years ago. It was nicely done. It was new years day and a staggering amount of cars taking advantage of the nice weather and outdoors. That fall looks very familiar. One of the trails leads directly to that lookout point.
