The guilty plea means Keating could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the felony conspiracy conviction. Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown is presiding over the case. She scheduled sentencing for Jan. 20, 2022, until which time Keating will remain free on his existing bond.
I would also assume disbarment?

That has already happened.

Will be hard to ever touch the doctors because medical diagnoses are subjective. Plenty of these people have legitimate back, shoulder, neck injuries that show up in imaging that the doctor can say came from the accident. It would be very hard to show their recommendations were fraudulent even if the injuries were pre-existing.
Judge Brown is allowing in the doctors because they as lawyers should be held to a higher standard and she doesn't believe the collateral source rule is present in these cases.

In order to make any real progress we have to take the doctors down too. The lawyers may run the screen, but it is impossible without the doctors.

So the difference between this asshat and all the billboard and commercial faces we see daily are? Are we to believe this ONE Louisiana plaintiff attorney has deals with claimants and doctors but it’s an isolated case?

Morris Bart, McKernan, Callahan, etc. may seem sleazy on TV. But they aren't paying people to slam into 18 wheelers on the interstate. And they definitely are not having the slammers murdered to keep them from testifying. So, there's quite a bit of difference between Keating and those folks.

It should never apply in cases where charges =/= the amount actually paid/discounted. That is the definition of a windfall.

These mf'ers should be thrown under the jail. It's shite like this that gives attorneys (and doctors) a bad name across the board. Make an example of these dishonest a-holes!!
