I don’t know why this specific topic always devolves to plaintiff attorney vs. insurance company arguments. Yes there’s all sorts of bad acts on both sides but this situation of staging hundreds of fraudulent accidents is above and beyond any of the typical tactics done by either side. To me, it waters down the abject awfulness of what was done to get lost in the weeds over the typical legal wrangling done. This isn’t that.

Well yes, it’s greed and hubris to think you could actually get away with it, and he’ll do some jail time for it.

But the defense bar and LABI are trying to use this case as indicative of something more pervasive and larger than just this single conspiracy, and I think it’s fair game to push back on that suggestion.

What about the treating doctors? The scheme doesn't work without them.

Honestly, Plaintiff doctors will find something wrong whether you tell the the accident if fake or not. No need to bring them in.

It wasn't hundreds of accidents and its also not the norm. This behavior happens every now and then by greedy attorneys and the DOJ catches it most of the time. Its terrible behavior for sure but it is far from the norm. Even the PI attorneys hate these guys.

These things go sideways because just like politics most people are staunchly on one side or the other ignoring all the middle ground where real injuries and damages are being litigated.

I don’t know the facts on whether the alleged puppetmaster has a financing company, but I will say from personal experience that Vanessa Motta is very well-versed in the nuances of the collateral source rule and what charges the jury gets to see when it comes to medical funding companies buying the paper from the doctors.

Medical funding companies have jacked up the collateral source rule.

Yeah, I think it’s sketchy and stay far away from it.

Well, knowing how this works, I don't think the judges will be too harsh in sentencing because this shite greased too many palms for far too long.

You start cracking down on too many you're going to uncover some bodies and then things will get REALLY interesting

And please don't think I think they should be lenient. All these scumbags, from the lawyers, drivers, judges, all the way down to the doctors need to be punished to the fullest extent. What I am saying is that if they don't and A and B are where it ends then you'll know the fix was in.

Kinda like when VW got popped for cheating diesel tests. Know who didn't pipe up? The other car companies. Because they were doing it too and that whole damn mess went away real quick.

You obviously don't know how this works then, these cases are in federal court where judges are not elected. They are appointed by the president with very little greasing involved.
