Attending my 1st Fireworks on the Miss River - Baton Rouge question

Looking forward to my first Fireworks on the Mississippi River in downtown Baton Rouge. Any recs would be appreciated, places to eat, sights to see, parking. Thanks gents

Normally the OT overplays the whole You Gonna Die thing but there have been shootings at that event like four out of the last five years.

Instead of downtown, it may be a better idea to go Tiger Park/LSU Vet School area to view the fireworks.

The rooftop of Tsunami/ the Shaw Center is the only place downtown I’d consider. You can buy tickets online. Otherwise, like others advised, watch from West Baton Rouge. You can even watch them from your car in WBR.

Just hope you aren’t parked in a lot hit by thieves. They do it EVERY year. Hit every in 3 or 4 lots. Broken glass and all your stuff shuffled around your car.
Traffic is rough heading out unless you park at the casino lot by the bridge and head south on River Road immediately.
