My dad had a smith model 15 stolen out of his truck in 1984. Reported it stolen. A few years later his buddy at the Sheriff’s office called him and told him it was used in a murder. After the trial he got it back. I have it now.

Going to have start leaving topwater baits with treble hooks under the seat. On a short leader. Catch them on the hand sweep under the seat.
Wouldn’t it be a beautiful sight to snag a bunch of those thieves ? Have them flopping around by one paw.

Plenty of good hiding spots in most vehicles for a firearm. And never leave the mag & pistol together when parking like that. You’d risk chance of being shot with your own gun if you walked up on the animals.
There is always some spare tire, jack area, under some seats hidden etc…
AND. If you know you’re parking in nola for a game at Dome or arena:
1. NOW A DAYS, park in the garage he’s attached to the stadium. Really can’t do that for saints games, but you can for Pels & State Championships etc..
Get yourself one of those “magnetic hiders” and put your piece up under the chassis.
+ word is, those worthless animals target “trucks” specifically because a truck is more liable to have a gun in it anyways.
If you’re going to NOLA, you need to have some street smarts now more than ever. I Grew up in that shithole & it’s pathetic/sad how bad it’s gotten.
Make sure to follow your police reports to the “T” for that gun.
Only good thing is homocides generally go unsolved, heck the police don’t even show up and follow thru, so it likely won’t be traced back to you.

Call dispatch. Non emergency (they get pissed when you tie up 911). All of it is recorded. Get the dispatchers name and record an accurate (iPhone) time.
The call will be the only documentation until you are contacted and given a report.
Be polite. The people you finally speak to at least care enough to stay in that hell hole and are trying. You aren’t talking to the mayor.
