They should quitbtheir jobs. Just like white military members. Why are you working for a state that doesn't like you?

Very true. The only problem with that is they are state employees. Taxpayers would have to take a hit on taxation, but it would probably be worth it.

FIFY, tax and spend, never any cuts. After all, it's not the politicians money, it's magic money that just keeps coming in whatever amounts are needed.

Will unions start to strike?

What good will striking do to solve several much larger issues that can't be solved over night? It isn't like this is about dental insurance. There are some deep issues at play on all sides. A strike over this is a joke. I'm pretty anti-union, and I think police unions are some of the worst. They make it hard for the good cops to get respect because the unions take up for the shitty cops.

I think some of them are getting close to that point...

Cleveland police union president's comments after Isiah Cromwell posted that image of a cop getting his throat slit:

quote:

"You're a grown arse man, and you claim you were too emotional to know it was wrong? Think we'll accept your apology? Kiss my arse," Loomis told TMZ.com.

quote:

Loomis called Crowell's Instagram post as "offensive as putting a picture of historical African-American men being hung from a tree in the '60s," adding that if Crowell doesn't go to Dallas and make a donation, "I will pull Cleveland officers, sheriffs, state troopers out of First Energy Stadium this season."

quote:

If none of that happens, Loomis said he will resort to rallying his officers to refuse to work security for the Browns by adopting an "official union policy" not to work security for the team.

"If the Browns don't think I can get this done, I've got some swamp land in Florida to sell them," Loomis said.

I think I can take that chance for a little while. Maybe I can get an extra month out of my brake tag.

I've never seen more reason for someone to strike, cops are getting killed and all anybody in power is willing to say is it's their own fault because they're racist

It becomes really interesting in instances like the one I quoted above... where the Cleveland PD would no longer work security at Browns games. Police do a ton of off-duty security at various events and places of business. If they started boycotting certain ones I bet that would get some attention.

An NFL player makes a stupid arse statement about the police... the police could call for a nation-wide boycott of the NFL. The league would shite if they lost all their security.

What is the goal of the strike? For someone in power to apologize? Striking solves nothing in this situation. It only widens the divide.

Strikes could get the DOJ off their asses, strikes could shut down this dumbass talk of tying federal funding into the whims and compliance of the BLM movement

while I agree, at some point the cops will not be able to cater to all the demands without completely gutting their duties

there will be a breaking point if we keep going in the direction we are going

Why are white people still supporting sports at the collegiate and especially the pro levels at all? These racist black players sitting around thinking of a new TD dance move while rolling in the white man's money and spouting their hatred for whitey....Yeah yeah when's opening day? Have ya got yer season tix in the mail yet, I can't wait man! Lemme send these racists some more of MY cash to encourage and enable their racism, that'll show them!

Worth noting, police typically get awesome state pensions and can retire at an early age. It's a huge piece did compensation that doesn't show up in most tallies.

Remember when Obama said he wanted a national police force as large as the local ones?
Remember when homeland security bought all those bullets?
Remember when Obama started a race war with local police?

The idea that all black athletes are racist and hate whites is as silly as the idea that all white cops are racist and hate all blacks.

Not a formalized strike, because they may suffer political repercussions at the whim of the local mayor or parish president. I think the nation needs to be swept with an epidemic of the Blue Flu. I bet after a few days of no cops at work, people will be motivated to find a "cure".

I'm astounded that there are actually people out there who think we don't need police. There are certainly cops who are assholes, but if you dealt with the dregs of society on a daily basis, you might also become an a-hole. I know they chose to become cops and they knew the pay wasn't great when they signed up, but it's not an easy job. At best, you have to deal with rude people. At worst, you have some psycho trying to kill you.

Uhhh No, this is the wrong way to go about this and a huge part of the problem. The job should have merit pay and not civil service.

Less total but higher quality officers can be accomplished for relatively the same amount of money. Holding the bad apples accountable and rewarding the good would create monumental changes.

Won't matter if they strike since sheriff deputies are not unionized. It would just double or triple their work load in some cases.

Name 1, one, black player who stood in opposition of the Rams support of Ferguson riots and the lie of "hands up, don't shoot". Name 1 NBA player who opposed the ousting of the old guy in California over illegally taped comments he made to his whore.

And I never said ALL, I said the racist ones anyway. Multiple boycotts have occured by blacks and LBGTXYZB alphabet soups for much less from just one employee comment. Turn-about is fair play.
