re: As more come out about this Andrew Tate fellow, he really is a POS.

I think JP is sort of aloof and weird. I was fascinated by the movement early on and the vacuum he filled, but I don't pay much attention to him anymore.
But I also don't think he's really leading men astray. I think young men who genuinely follow his advice in the way JP intends it will usually become better versions of themselves.
Yeah, he's gotten extremely bitter over the last few years. Of course, I can't blame him after how he's been attacked, though.

Remember when SDVtiger got banned and then made like 4 consecutive alters worshipping Andrew Tate in nearly every post? That was weird.

Like Portnoy and Barstool Sports.
They applaud him because they want to be him.

It's sad that hero worship is what it took to get him there.

It's the whole, cult of personality, thing. Most people want to be led.

I can see that. He seems like a genuine guy, but he also seems to have some major insecurity issues that he's battling. I don't hold that against him, but it seems odd that so many people look to him for guidance.
Tangent: It would seem that traditional organizations like, The Church, really missed a great opportunity to speak directly to people with the internet. There are so many good messages that would resonate with young people and honestly they really need right now.
Yeah, that's the undercurrent/other story here. Where are the biblical representatives for masculinity?
I think a lot of faithful Christian leaders sneer at tough, red blooded masculinity both because it's not natural to them and because it's not mandated, and that's probably true. But that doesn't mean it's not how most of us are wired. And my rebuttal to the Church's soft, whispery manhood is to gesture to Andrew Tate and Trump and whomever else is providing the alternative. It's selling, your variant is not.
Clearly the Church's version of manhood isn't resonating and is opening the door for alternatives of varying detrimental impact. And in fairness, part of that is because regular men - masculine with typical masculine instincts and interests, aren't leading in the church and are leaving it to the softer guys to handle (and it's not working).

He seems like a douche bag to me but is he any different than a run of the mill pimp? Strong Hand Pookie isn’t getting anywhere near this amount of air time

He came off as a dude that was expressing traditional ideas that are good for young men. No big deal. But the more you dig and you don't have to dig much the more he really seems like a major d-bag.
His schtick is designed to target low self-esteemed males who are looking for respect and admiration.
Most of his sales pitch is basic and obvious but his alpha personality appeals to those lacking in confidence and well, alpha personality.
He has many attributes of a cult leader in the mold of Charles Manson, Jim Jones or David Koresh.
He also has the sleazy used car salesmen attributes of, say a Joel Olsteen or a Jimmy Swaggert.
I guess that kind fits the D-Bag criteria.

Tate is a Muslim
I don't expect Tate to fulfill what I'm talking about, we're talking about why Tate is filling a void where other institutions of influence should be active.

Okay, that’s kind of what I figured but I find it interesting he has recently converted to Islam and is starting to push that.

As usual, Petitfogger, says what I meant to say better than I could say it.
To use an overused cliche'. There's a God shaped hole in people's hearts and soul. People like Andrew Tate are looking to profit from that.
I know we've heard how, "The Patriarchy" is such a bad thing, but Patriarchs are needed now more than ever.

He’s selling masculinity in an era that tells you masculinity is evil. So he’s countering a terrible message and providing what so many men want to hear.
But he’s selling a false notion of it, and good people shouldn’t promote an immoral actor just because he’s filling a void.
This.
I've said it multiple times, but from what I've seen he repackaged Reddits The Red Pill ("TRP") in video form. I liked TRP for certain things like telling men it's okay to be masculine, stoic, and work on their bodies and minds. I did not like the TRP because it assumed most women are vapid morons, and only really provided breakdowns on how to go after those style of women. I wanted to be a stronger and better man, but I also wanted to date strong women.

Yeah, I'm sure that kid's parents are devastated that their son is alive and moving forward in life because of Andrew Tate

Literally everyone in Hollywood plays that game. I guess if you're in movies and have a good PR team you can get away with any behavior.
American athletes as well. What rich and influential person doesn't play this game?

So, in other words, he treats women like Democrats treat black folks.
Guess they’re all helpless, huh?
