Time to think outside of the box. Make an exception and wipe down everything afterward if necessary. Or even throw a $2 bottle of syrup away if you must - who gives a shite?

And once again, common sense failed IHOP
Wrong. The mother is to blame. The manager has rules to follow. All the mother had to do was feed her child. It really isn't that hard.

No, they won't. This family isn't black.

And this people, is the type of GM you dont want to hire
Do you think executives would have been more mad at
A. GM that took the brain power to let the disabled kid eat and threw away the $1 syrup bottle
or
b. GM that followed the rules like a mindless drone and now has this public case
The mother potentially being a bitch is part of being a gm for a business. It is your job to handle these things

Dude...not only does he eat with his feet, but he has to sit on the table (which is a fall hazard). It really isn't hard for his mother to cut his pancakes and feed it to him. It's false outrage.

This is a very unique case, there is no slippery slope for IHOP here
It was terrible management. I dont know how that is being argued

I'm not saying you're wrong, but this isn't store bought bottles of syrup.
IHOP has those refillable syrup containers.

Let's be real here, those containers have probably not been washed since the first time they have been used. If the manager had to actually clean the syrup bottles after this kid ate, it is probably the first time they have ever been cleaned.

I also would like to see these rules and health codes about letting people eat with their feet........
I am not sure there is one

I can’t figure which is grosser
Walking through ihop barefoot then eating with your feet
Or taking your shoes off and eating with your feet

Maybe they wouldn't be able to pay the tab because it cost an arm and a leg?

"When we got there, I carried him in, took him to the bathroom and washed his feet so he could eat," Bancroft said.
Also, this is great too

The mother also thanked several IHOP patrons who witnessed the incident. She said a veteran and two women had just received their food but left when the Bancrofts did, and a father asked his kids if they’d washed their hands – to which, they said no – then had every child touch the syrup.

Definitely a lose-lose for the manager. It is my understanding the mother carried him into the restaurant then to the bathroom to wash his feet. The manager should have just let it go then tossed the bottle after. Once it went to facebook, it was over.

Definitely a lose-lose for the manager.
What is the lose for letting him eat like every other restaurant has been able to figure out?
People have jumped the shark now and are afraid to ever condone businesses fricking up because of "faux outrage" blah blah blah

Is this the first time she brought him to a restaurant? Was there an issue before?
His face looks like the kid on Modern Family when he was younger.

Or just ask the mother nicely to pour the syrup for the child

Are you saying her level of outrage is appropriate?
Could she have not just thought "huh, guess they don't allow this here." And fed him herself?
