Are you saying her level of outrage is appropriate?

All she did was leave the restaurant and post about it on her facebook

She didnt get a lawyer

she didnt call coprorate

she posted about it on social media

you are currently arguing about it on a social wesbite

I dont see the big deal

quote:

"huh, guess they don't allow this here." And fed him herself?

she could have. However, considering he was taught in therapy this is how to eat so he can be somewhat independent, I dont put the fault on the mother for being upset

I put the fault on a bad manager being bad at his job. And so does the general manager and owner of IHOP

The general manager later apologized, the mother says, but the damage was already done. Bancroft told KARK that the day after the incident, the boy wanted to sit in a chair instead of on the table.

Good. Sitting on the table is not safe in the first place.

is my understanding the mother carried him into the restaurant then to the bathroom to wash his feet

Non issue then. At that point feet are probably cleaner than the hordes of people who touch syrup with their hands after not washing

The manager should have really run away from this one.

He could have at least given the kid a hand, if not a whole arm.

This is so stupid. The mom was definitely ready to jump on social media to play the victim card. If I walked in and saw a kid pouring syrup with his feet then I would have left without sitting down.

All this mom is teaching her son is that rules don't apply to him. In other words, the old "we just want him to be treated like everyone else" is really "we expect you to make exceptions for us."

Where is my faux outrage?

I am not outraged, and my reaction isn’t fake

I simply think it’s cruel to make light of a disabled kid.

A quote from Forrest Gump that doesn’t even make sense because he has both legs...

shite my 3 year old has all his parts and he still wants to be fed sometimes. Good for that little guy for adapting.

If I was the GM, I'd have figured it out. If I was the parent, I probably would have fed my son to avoid drama and commotion.

That was not the only post making light of his disablitly, and I knew there would be more

It is something I dont do, and I find it cruel

I get that some people thing its fair game to make fun of disabled kids and not a big deal

That a no go for me. Not the end of the world, just something that turns my stomach a little bit

There are things I say that others likely find over the line

I was misquoted earlier

The GM did everything he could to fix it. The manager is who screwed up

I would have left just like she did, but not posted on social media

Dude...not only does he eat with his feet, but he has to sit on the table (which is a fall hazard). It really isn't hard for his mother to cut his pancakes and feed it to him. It's false outrage.

Yeah this seems completely set up because mom needs some go fund me money.

Like you think she cut of his arms and sent him to therapy as all part of this ruse?

2 shitty leg puns that again make no sense because he has both legs and a post blaming his parents for his disability. Not one post making fun of the kid.

Get off your high horse dude. No one made fun of the kid having no arms.

Or you know the more likely scenario he was implying, she’s making the most of an unfortunate situation.

I was hyperbolic cause I thought his implication was absurd

The kid has no arms. He absolutely would be taught to eat with his feet. I dont think letting him feed himeself was all a setup from the beginning
