I have been in Vegas in summer several times and one of them in the middle of July in the open desert looking around a solar farm with regular temps around 105. Didn’t phase me. I remember looking and saying I don’t even feel hot. I got two beads of sweat on the brim of the construction hat. Give me air that my body can air out and breathe all day over Louisiana humidity and heat any time

Different heat but I’ll take the humidity over feeling like my skin is burning off from acid.

I spent a year in Prescott.

That's a nice area.

Great weather. No humidity

The shade helps in AZ way more than it does in the SE

I’ve been to Arizona several times. I’m always thirsty when I’m there. I cannot drink enough water there to feel hydrated.

Well in Arizona when you sweat it actually evaporates. Therefore sweating actually cools you off.

In Louisiana it’s so humid that when you sweat you just stay hot and get the added benefit of being hot and wet

I’m in Fresno and it is the same dry heat with a very intense sun. It burns you in very little time and dries everything out quickly. You have to stay hydrated and get any outside work done very early before the sun really intensifies.

I absolutely hate humidity. The times I’ve been in it I’ve hated every minute of it. It drains you differently than the sun out here. When the air is dense, moist and hot I’m at a loss as to what to do. For me that is miserable. I honestly don’t know how you guys do it.

I’ll take 105 out here every day of the week. I can deal with the sun.

lived in utah where it regularly got over 105, and 95 in houston is so much worse. i'd hike in triple digit temps without issue, but simply walking to your mailbox in houston during the summer requires a shower.

i can't help the people who neglect to drink water in less humid environments.

Austin and the Hill Country gets pretty breezy. Houston is hell on earth.

Early mornings on the Northshore have been relatively nice.
for folks who work outside and get acclimated to the heat, this summer has been downright pleasant in Mississippi. The heat will eventually come, but we're in the 2nd week of June and this has been the mildest summer in several years. There's some summers where June is more brutal than July because of all the rain that turns to steam.

I’ve experienced 114 with 0 humidity in a desert. My skin was sizzling but I wasn’t sweating. 98 with humidity is bad in a different way. Air is heavy. Sweat a lot. I’ll pass on both options, sir.

how would you compare it? I know it’s essentially dry vs humid climate, but which would you say is worse?

Doesn’t matter how “dry” your 108 degree day is. Once the temp is past 100 it’s all the same and it’s all miserable.

The humidity goes there too padnuh.

Get that July or August 1pm shower and sun back out 30 minutes later and by 3 you're going to die.

I lived in Gilbert, worked in Tempe over a 35 year span.
You're lying if you don't think dry heat is a more comfortable environment. Peak summer heat is worse in Louisiana.
The only detriment to Phoenix weather is the length of summer - it's a looooong season. That wears on you more than any given day.
My hottest day experienced was 124 degrees in 2018.

It’s not the heat, it's the humility.
