Love all the heros in here intentionally clogging roadways and artificially reducing capacity. I y'all bitch about traffic ironically too

It's science that everyone should be doing Car B. That's the most efficient way.

And honestly, it's sad that it even required study because it SHOULD be obvious but people are just HORRIBLE at logic.

The best way to merge for construction is the zipper method. If cars 2 and 3 in the RH lane weren't driven by assholes car b could merge in with minimal to no impact on traffic flow.

Some states even now have signs telling dumb arse drivers who think they should get in the LH lane 5 miles back and just have a slow-moving lane to wait to merge.

Zipper merge is technically the best way when done correctly, unfortunately it's not done correctly.

In Pennsylvania they have signs that say "Use both lanes and drive to the merge point than alternate."

B is correct

Actually, no, I don’t. But I did see someone with all their lights off though. Tried flashing him a few times but it failed. Couldn’t see him after about 5 car lengths since the rain was so bad.

B all the way. It’s two lanes, use them until it’s not two lanes.

The 2 statements above are literally the same. The 2nd one is just what the emotional wreck tells themselves because they don't understand merging

If people can't realize that US society can't zipper merge, thus making it less efficient and worthy of abandonment, they are retarded.

I'm sorry, but we are too stupid to do it the right way.

I merge at the foot of the bridge in BR from the right lane. Typically between 65-85. On the 1 in 500 occasion where I can't I simply exit off. It isn't that hard.

Here's another good one. But be prepared to get a bird or two; people think you're crazy for wanting to see traffic.

This one drives me nuts too. You drive on the right side. Why would it change just because you're turning? Instead you're both sitting there blind because Karen is too stupid to do it right.

People get piiiiiissed when you do it right too
And it never occurs to them to drive 10 more feet and turn around me.

Do they still have the exits not calibrated with the mile markers? That used to drive me utterly insane. A lot of interstates up north used to be that way, but over time, they fixed them.

i see more people doing the wrong way than i do the correct way. i guess it saves like 15 ft of driving?

ZIPPER MERGE FTW!!!!!!!!!!!

I see this every day on my drive home. There is a section of road near an intersection. If everyone zipper merges, it smooth sailing. If they don't, the whole intersection is a CLUSTER
