Are women almost as big and strong as men nowadays?

I can’t help but to notice how big some women are today. Was it always like this? Are females gradually catching up to males in size as the generations pass? My dad told me that he almost never saw women that were six feet tall when he was a kid, but now you see them all the time.
A lot of them are as tall as men and stocky. The short ones are quite stocky and built like tanks as well. They look like they would do fine in weight lifting or football if they put their minds to it.
What’s causing this trend? Is this because of the better nutrition and greater availability of food in modern times? We’re practically up to our eyeballs in food nowadays. Maybe that allows women to have better nutrition than in the past.

Women may be taller these days and definetly are heavier. I think the "average" bra cup size in the US went from a B to a D in basically a generation, and the average woman in the US wears plus size clothes.
Also narrowing the gap are dudes in skinny jeans with no muscle definition.

I powerlifted in high school one of my first meets my freshman year there was a girl that was built like a brick shite house I thought it was a guy at first. She squatted 500 pounds and everyone there was mind blown.
