I cannot tell you how many hundreds of PICC lines I have placed into people that are going home to live their life with them. You absolutely can go home with a Picc. As a matter of fact, that is one of the four main reasons to get a Picc.

Thanks. The other thing I'm on is able to be administered intra muscularly . Let me see if I can find the bag..it just boils down to whether they have to give vank to me every 8 hours like they have been right? ...I have family that ill stay with that has given my mother shots when she was living...will they continue the same amount of vank or do they cut back .? If they cut back maybe they can run it 2 times a day instead of 3 ?

Vancomycin can definitely be done by PICC line at home. Can be difficult to do every 8 hours but it’s doable if you have someone at home that can help you. Depending on insurance you might also be able to get daptomycin which is a similar antibiotic but is only given once a day.
Regardless of what you do at home you need lab work once a week as either of these can cause kidney issues.
The main issue we have trying to get people on home IV antibiotics is the out of pocket costs due to insurance.
