Whatever you going through remind yourself it does get better You will recover I have found the stories that people on here even if it wasn't a stroke or their stroke was different than mine they're examples of doing the work and being patient with yourself we're a good lesson to learn

I went to the hospital and was good with visits pizza Wendy's, whatever. Then a friend visited and was fricked up . Haven't had a visit since and this place doesn't allow them at all ..they wouldn't even let me in the covered smoking area...eventually they gave up and told me do whatever you want and that includes food that only the staff gets .

It's just so scary to be 33 and here that..I mean ,its a big deal to pull fluid off the brain and be unable to speak but it came back ..I want to get back to life and to work . They say I can't drive for 6months . Cuz seizure ..I'll tell u what,if I was anyone else then I'd tell that hospital to go to court...I mean what if I didn't have that third seizure ,I'd have been at home with an abscess that doubled in size in two days...what would have eventually happened?

I just hope that the surgery and the antibiotics are all that I need to be healthy from now on. I'm lucky that my dad will let me stay with him until I can drive and get back to life. Do you have medicaid? If so ,what did you have to pay for the nurse to come out ? Anything ?

nope im trying to get signed up for all that it takes a while and its a lot of paperwork and the tell me everyone is rejected at first but you have to keep at it

as was mentioned talk the social worker

And be patient with yourself set reasonable goals realize that you'll make progress and have setbacks .
Getting my head around the fact that it will be up to a year maybe more till I feel I've gotten back to normal and even then I won't have the long range long-term energy I have had has been tough for me to accept

But you and me both have a purpose we're still here and because it's going to take time for us to get back physically to do what we're going to do next
that allows us the time to figure out what it is we're going to do and the why

By that he might mean your vancomycin blood levels and liver enzymes are ok. Hope you get better soon and do what they say. Be patient.

You can def go home with a picc line, but we rarely if ever send kids home with IV vancomycin Bc of possible side effects. There wasn’t a more narrow spectrum antibiotic to put you on?

Hey, hang it there. If you trying to get Medicaid, That can take up to two years. Sucks when someone really needs it.

One thing for sure, you made it to this point. Every day for now on is a better step.

Myself, I been riding that train the pass 10 years with heart failure. Now with that, I am now fighting ALS. I'm not going to give up yet.

Hang in there buddy. I know a skilled nursing facility isn’t where you want to be at your age. Like OWL and a few others have said, check with your social worker. They should be able to send you home if you can show them you have the proper support and can get home health in there, but that’s a lot of ifs right now. You’ve gotten a lot of good advice in this thread tho, so def keep us updated on what’s going on. Glad you’re feeling better. Keep pushing forward.
