I have a history so I'm guessing there wanting to be safe in case I were to do something I shouldn't and end up dead or some shite..even though its been a long time ago

Also,is there a chance that they will cut the vank early based on my blood work ,which is getting better and better.

It'll likely be 6 weeks based off just how vague it sounds.

Usually I've had issues with insurance covering q8 home health iv antibiotics because 'that requires a higher level of care'.

I've sent people home with daily or q12 antibiotics, but usually q8 is when nearly everyone had to go to a snf. There were a couple that I was able to send home but their family members were nurses (not assistants) and they didn't need therapy at all (pt/ot) where yours sounds like you could still benefit from.

I’m curious...why are you so anxious to get out of the nursing home?

No I haven't even been home..I'm saying if you have done drugs before they don't want to send you home with it cuz if u do something like that then you could possibly sue them

I'm guessing that's why

Vanc can be given on all kinds of schedules. It all depends on your kidney function, body mass, weight. Etc. I’ve done it q24,q18,q12,q8. You name it. It will depend on what your vancomycin blood levels are. Rocephin is an easy once daily injection. And yes, you will need the full 6 weeks.

We send picc lines home all the time. But not on IV drug users.

2nd edit: if your on vanc then the bug will also be sensitive to Cubicin. Which is more expensive but a once daily injection. I guess you could ask about that as an alternative.

Well I guess they don't want to take any chances. Like it would cause you to relapse or something. Its been years
