Dude, that is so yesterday's con. The game today is attack any politician of a party different than you unless they open totally and absolutely in the next 15 minutes. Get with the program.

I'd imagine if you have the Corona virus and want the hydroxychoroquine but can't get it, you may possibly be upset. Many doctors, patients, and researchers swear by it, many do not, many want more research.

Let's get something straight: doctors were not giving people hydroxychloroquine based on Trump's blithering. They were giving this to people out of desperation and some early indications that it worked. That it turned out not to work is awful and frustrating.

It is DISGUSTING that hardcore black dems from Nola are coming onto this board giddy that a potential treatment might not be effective.

Their brothas, sistas , aunties, and cousin pookie are dropping dead from the disease all over Nola and Detroit and Chicago, and they are not upset that a potential treatment isn’t effective

They care more about politics

You think everyone that was given the drug died because of the drug?

I knew you weren't very smart, but even I didn't think you were this stupid.

it's almost like you should wait to see if the solution works before you start telling people that it does.

From the article you linked:

quote:

The nationwide study was not a rigorous experiment.

The study was posted on an online site for researchers and has not been reviewed by other scientists.

Maybe you should take your own advice and wait for confirmation before you claim "victory."

I guess you aren’t going to answer my question because I said I didn’t want to argue. So let’s argue.

quote:

And no, i'm not happy that 17% more people died than otherwise would've.

So your stance is that you believe this treatment makes you 2.5x more likely to die than other forms of treatment? Not just ineffective but more likely to kill you than the virus itself?

You believe the clinical tests that have yet to be administered (or completed rather) would support this?

The better question to ask you is, do you have some bias outside of this treatment? Be honest with yourself.

it's not that i wouldn't want access for people to try to opt into a clinical trial to test it, i just might not want to stand from my pulpit as america's most watched "news" source and tell people that they SHOULD want to try it.

i might as a news network tell people that it might not work and that it might damage my heart. i also might say that people need the drug for other diseases and not attack people for withholding it.

So this is all just really about Fox News? Turn it off, man. FFS.

I haven't seen any of that but if it bothers you, become a news anchor or talk show host and report it the correct way.

So you want to get into which news sources have been looking out for public interest throughout this crisis?

no i was unclear on the exact question, and asked you above to re-phrase so i could better answer your question.

quote:

So your stance is that you believe this treatment makes you 2.5x more likely to die than other forms of treatment? Not just ineffective but more likely to kill you than the virus itself?

no. the stats doesn't show any indicator that the drug is 2.5 times as dangerous than the virus itself. it does continue to show that the drug in the largest sample size that the drug may be ineffective at fighting the virus as standard of care.

quote:

You believe the clinical tests that have yet to be administered (or completed rather) would support this?

i believe the clinical tests will show that the drug might be able to administered in certain and particular cases to COVID patients until better ones arrive, but that it would be irresponsible to promote its widespread use because of the side effects and inefficacy. i also believe as other drugs become available, the secondary prescriptability of this drug will be rescinded by the FDA

quote:

The better question to ask you is, do you have some bias outside of this treatment? Be honest with yourself.

yes. i'm biased against fox news. i think it spreads horrible information and is anti-science.

my victory isn't that it doesn't work, uptopar.

if it works, i'll be super happy. i'll take it myself.

i find it funny that you're more upset at my rush to "proclaim victory" than a "rush to proclaim a viable treatment".

I’m not sure what there is to rephrase. The link you posted is not a true clinical trial, correct? There have been studies done throughout the world that are much more promising, but are also not true clinical trials.

In other words, the study you posted is no “better” than the ones you seem to be suggesting are wrong, they just draw a different conclusion. Again, seems like you have some bias here.
