So, how do all of the people with lupus take it and it doesn't mess with their heart?

Are you referring to an unscientific retrospective review of a few hundred charts? Is that your gotcha?

Tell me more about this. Underlining points doesn't render them poignant.

You should stay at home until we have a vaccine instead. The drug worked for a couple of people that I know. Fortunately they didn't wait until they were about to go on a vent until they were giving the drug.

Let's ignore the fact that they are attempting to rig the largest clinical trial and many of the others because the doctors that are touting its effectiveness have said that once you are hospitalized and have been experiencing symptoms for a week that the medication combo of Hydroxychloroquine Azithromycin and Zinc is nowhere near as effective as it is if taken early right after symptoms appear.
Why would they do any study where they give it to people that are already hospitalized if the early research has shown that it is nowhere near as effective taken late as it is if it's taken early.
Aren't some of the studies being done without the Azithromycin and Zinc?

what would be the advantage of a lot of doctors rigging a clinical trial? what would it gain?

You mean like all of the pandemonium that was created over a possible shortage of ventilators when they're now saying that ventilators don't really help and in some cases even make matters worse?
I’m just wondering if OP ever even attempted a response to this post.

OP went on living his productive life for a minute, and didn't feel like the post merited a response.
it would be akin to saying that acknowledging that there weren't enough life vests on a boat to account for the number of people on the boat, and calling a want to gear up to supply said life jackets "creating pandemonium".
also, having extra life jackets is not a bad thing. a life jacket is a thing you have in case a boat sinks. ventilators are the standard of care of what you give in case people go into respiratory failure. they are not experimental.
to further draw the analogy out, OP is annoyed that certain news were touting "floating pills" in case the boat sinks, and even more annoyed when certain posters were angry that the floating pills weren't being made widely available.

You managed to pack, without excluding other fallacies, an ad hominem, a false dilemma, and a straw man all into one short "sentence." Congrats.

Dr: “not looking good for you, you’re on death’s door but there is a drug that has proven to be safe that might work but not 100% certain.”
Me: “Has is passed clinical trials for Covid only?”
Dr: “No”
Me: “nah. I’m good.”

The frick?
Eta
I apologize for being unclear. Let me elaborate.
What "the frick" do you suppose is the solution to this thing that is 1) losing funding as a result of promotion of HCQ and 2) not being promoted by those with a very clear motive to end this pandemic?
I assume you believe that bad orange man has some sort of devious plot to make this thing last forever, so if you could elaborate on the motive of this plan, I'd appreciate it.
Hope this helps.

That would be interesting, if OP hadn’t spent around 90 minutes rapid fire responding to the posts to him in this thread, the majority of which came after the post I was curious about.

and didn't feel like the post merited a response.
Ah my mistake. I mistakenly though this would be a pretty low threshold given the multiple ‘what sources are acceptable to you’ posts that were made.

You seem to have left out a minor detail. Does gearing up to supply said life jackets require shutting down the economy, ordering people to stay in there homes, restricting what can and can’t be sold in stores, preventing people from receiving important medical treatments, etc? Because if not, then it’s not really akin to this at all, is it?

As the post you were conveniently too busy to respond to originally pointed out, the anticipated need for ventilators was absolutely experimental because they didn’t know if it was effective in treating the virus or not. And as it turned out, the experiment didn’t really work and often caused even more harm.
“It’s almost like you should wait to see if the solution works before you start telling people that it does.”

That seems like a good idea to you? Interesting.

That’s cool. Posters are annoyed that OP only seems to want to apply his line of thinking to fit certain situations and not others. Posters generally don’t like hypocrites.

standard of care isn't experimental. it's standard of care.
and because i can frick off for 90 minutes, and multi-task enough to check the board, i can't be productive?
look i'm sympathetic to anyone hurting because of the shelter in place rules. i'm not sympathetic to snake oil peddlers attempting to promote miracle drugs before they know their efficacy.
by the way, you might have noticed, the CDC has revised their guidance to change it to stop saying that it's anecdotally effective. it's almost like they don't want people asking for it anymore, because it hasn't been proven to work.
also, ventilators are STILL the last line of defense in COVID cases. just because doctors managed to mitigate the symptoms enough to not need them as that last line, doesn't mean that they weren't necessary if the patient went into full respiratory failure...

ventilators are standard of care for respiratory failure, which covid 19 can cause.

Covid patients have proven to experience respiratory failure differently than non-covid patients.
So again, what’s the standard of care for covid-19?
