I haven't seen any of that but if it bothers you, become a news anchor or talk show host and report it the correct way.
i'll apply for journalism school right out of the outbreak. til then, i just have you beautiful spirits to talk to.

The actual study you linked is too much for me to read right now. But just going to where they list peoples comorbidities. You can see across the board the percentages of peoples underlying health conditions isnt equal among the groups.
So if you give drugs to one group that has 30.9% diabetes with complications and dont give to the group that only has 24.7%, then i dont know how you can say that drug works or doesnt work.

In other words, the study you posted is no “better” than the ones you seem to be suggesting are wrong, they just draw a different conclusion. Again, seems like you have some bias here.
it is the largest. other clinical trials have been debunked. and this one is done in america.

not knowing if the drug working or not working isn't the problem.
promoting a drug that you don't know works or not IS the problem.

Let's get something straight: doctors were not giving people hydroxychloroquine based on Trump's blithering. They were giving this to people out of desperation and some early indications that it worked. That it turned out not to work is awful and frustrating.
there is nothing wrong with doctors and patients trying/testing a drug.
there is everything wrong with anyone pushing and creating outrage about being withheld an untested drug.

no i was unclear on the exact question, and asked you above to re-phrase so i could better answer your question.
I’m sorry I didn’t see your reply.

no. the stats doesn't show any indicator that the drug is 2.5 times as dangerous than the virus itself. it does continue to show that the drug in the largest sample size that the drug may be ineffective at fighting the virus as standard of care.
You kind of made it sound that way when you said something along the lines of you were mad about the extra 17% that’s does because they were taking it. Certainly implied you thought the drug made you more likely to die.

yes. i'm biased against fox news. i think it spreads horrible information and is anti-science
I think you need to understand something, those of us that don’t like the media and think they are a true threat to our country, do not exclude Fox News. The major news networks want eyeballs and nothing else.
I think most people thought it was a viable treatment when doctors themselves started taking it as a prophylactic and became outspoken about it as a treatment. Not because Sean hannity said so.

Is this a clinical trial? Have the others been debunked? Does this one debunk the others?
I really want to know. Please explain why this study is better. Having a bigger sample is great, but if it just another study, it’s just more information if you ask me.

not mad... sad. the idea that someone could opt in for the clinical trial hoping that it might save their life, and then have it not work is sad.
i know people in a few clinical trials. they do it of their own free will but it's a hail mary. i'm sad for them if it doesn't work.

i have no problem with any doctor that wants to take his/her actual medical knowledge and apply it to his/her medical patient's condition with the patient's consent.
i do have problems of mass promotion of untested medicines for reasons impure, improper, profit-driven or political.
the board itself was obsessed about not having hydro just two weeks ago. was curious to check in and see if they still held that opinion.

it was enough for the CDC to change its guidelines on whether hydro should be administered...
quote:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) removed guidance from its website regarding drugs touted by President Trump as possible treatments for the coronavirus amid disputes over their effectiveness.
The CDC had initially included guidance regarding dosage for hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, the drugs recommended by Trump, noting that anecdotal evidence existed for their effectiveness.
“Although optimal dosing and duration of hydroxychloroquine for treatment of COVID-19 are unknown, some U.S. clinicians have reported anecdotally different hydroxychloroquine dosing," read the original guidance before including the dosage examples.
However, the CDC’s website, which was updated Tuesday, no longer includes that statement, instead stating that the drugs "are under investigation in clinical trials" to be used on patients infected with the coronavirus.
The website now notes that "there are no drugs or other therapeutics approved by the US Food and Drug Administration to prevent or treat COVID-19."

Yes, if I get the virus please give me the cocktail. No half rate study will change my mind.

Well that would be a F=ma and would depend on the density of the wood in the 2x4, the acceleration of the 2x4... i mean are we talking about like a ken griffey jr swing, or say your mom. Also, am i moving away from the swing, because positive or negative velocity would affect the PSI of the blow.
anyway, answer my questions and i'll get back to you.

you are a poor reader. i have not criticized trump, only fox news.
quote:
Fox News has backed off the hype by a lot. The network's hosts mentioned the drug at least 194 times in the first week of April and 138 times in the second week of April. But mentions of the drug declined to just 51 times for the week of April 15, The Daily Beast reported.
Primetime host Laura Ingraham frequently touted the drug on her show but "barely mentioned it last week and has done so only once since last Wednesday," according to the report. Host Tucker Carlson, who first brought the drug to Trump's attention, "has only mentioned the drug once in passing over the past 10 days." Host Sean Hannity, who repeatedly pushed the drug, has not mentioned it in nearly a week.

This is 2 Days old
this thread has been done multiple times in the ot and PT since the article came out, you have brought nothing new to this. You have been around long enough to know when you are bringing something new to the site and when you are probably Germans
If you don’t have It on here within ten minutes of it hitting Twitter you are late
All we know is we don’t know anything for sure yet, making it about some cable news channel is weak

i'm not trying to break news. i'm trying to see the effect of news on this board, and that requires a few days to matriculate. i'm polling a very specific part of the population.
I'm also curious how different rages and rants age and whether or not people change their minds over time. if they're still mad, or if there's a new thing to be mad about.

imagine being so delusional that you think that a cure, despite being told by expert and medical professionals does not work, and is drawing attention and funding away from the hard work and development of things that actually do work, actually will work.
And this is why the left is a Death Cult. They are actively rooting for and celebrating people getting sick and dying because they think it will save them in November. There’s as much evidence that hydro is effective as there is this Chinese Flu is any more contagious or dangerous than past flus.
