Just curious when the woke mob starts looking at rap music? Or is there some kind of unwritten immunity there?

I think you know the qualifications a person needs to be immune.

Dixie Chicks made up false outrage to get their name in the news

The name change comes ahead of the release of the group’s first album in 14 years, “Gaslighter,” due out on July 17.

I think he’s referring to the Bush comments some years back regarding the Dixie Chicks.

Not all rappers do this, but a lot of it glorifies violence, drug use and treating woman like whores.

I'm not for censoring people, but kids grow up listening to that and wanting to live the thug life.

Comparing the cancel culture of the left and the right is completely disingenuous

I would say that this is mostly true. I don't think that cancel culture has much endurance/longevity. The people who take part in it are offended by everything, so they flit from one outrage to the next like the emotionally unstable space cadets they are.

Lots of bands have been "cancelled." It only resulted in bigger album sales though. I remember black churches destroying 2 Live Crew and NWA albums. Marilyn Manson and other rock acts have had large protests outside of their concerts. It doesn't work in music like it does in acting.

Axl is super woke now, so I think they might get a pass.

Wezzy F - has said something’s against the movement, nothing so far.
Kanye - widely known he’s against the Left, closes a deal with Gap. Wife gets a $200m pay day, both money machines go brrrrrr

Axl was crucified for that song back in the day. The song itself was removed from all future copies of that album 20 years ago... What’s interesting about the song that most people miss is that it’s sung from 2 different perspectives. It’s sung from not only the point of view of a racist, but also from the point of view of a regular guy who wants no part of the racist. He’s just trying to make ends meet. That’s why the 3rd verse says “radicals and racists, don’t point your finger at me...” That being said, Axl completely failed to see that most people would not catch the nuances of the song. Instead all they heard was him dropping the n bomb and railing against immigrants and homosexuals.

It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so hateful. They were doing fine then they started getting political.
