They seem to revive evey few years, but I only see older women wearing them now.

They look ridiculous, IMO, but they can wear whatever they want.

I had some but they were so uncomfortable. I remember when Jordan's came out and I got my 1st pair. My dad put them on and was blown away with how much more padding they had then the chucks he played in.

What is funny the 1st Jordan's we had were heavy and hard compared to shoes now

Depends. There’s a guy at the gym that wears them and works out in them. He squats and deadlifts like 1,000 pounds.
Conversely (pun intended), there’s a needle dick “barista” by said gym that’s surely a member of ANTIFA and couldn’t squat 100 pounds.

They are all over the place

That right there is the difference in generations.

Old school = tough as nails

New school = soft as bubble gum

Clearly you never lived through the 60's and 70's with a drivers license.

One podcast I listened to a few episodes of (not full episodes I rarely listen to a full podcast episode) is Still 400 with Mannie Fresh and Juvenile. This was around Mardi Gras when I listened, but they were talking about Mardi Gras and there was some local music guy they had on and they were talking about Mardi Gras. The guy they had in said he hadn't gone to mardi gras since he was about 6 grade.. When he was old enough his momma would let him stay home. But before that time he didn't like going and one reason was that people were always stepping on his feet. Whether he was just not moving fast enough or what, but then the last parade he went to he had new shoes on and people were stepping all over them, etc.,

Juvenile said he enjoyed going with his family (dude has a daughter who graduated from the University of Miami med school) and that what he did was that his wife, kids, him... they all have a pair of chuck taylors they wear to mardi gras. Evidently they are easier to wash.

So are they cool? Man, when it comes to shoes today there are so many different brands that people wear it really doesn't matter.

Seems like the Chuck Taylors go through popularity phases once every 20 years or so. That phase is currently not happening.

I remember my dad taking me shopping for new shoes after I signed up for a youth basketball camp in the 90s. He refused to pay for Jordans or Reebok Pumps, so I ended up with a pair of navy blue wool Chuck Taylor high-tops with a faux leather strap on the back. They looked like something out of Hoosiers.

I was certain I would be made fun of all week at camp, but on the first day, one of the coaches said I had "real man shoes", so he called me Chuck every day. He was probably trolling, but nobody made fun of me to my face. So yeah, they're cool.

PF Flyers and Classic Chucks are timeless sneakers.

The Quality of Chucks went downhill for awhile though. Cheap sole adhesive

Converse are always cool. The person wearing them may or may not be. The shoes do not make the man.
