I don’t believe this. Not if you had to paddle across a pond to get it unless it was a very young bobcat

I remember barely seeing a bobcat while I was in a climber hunting.

my old deer stand required about a 3/4 mile walk through CRP land to get to the blind. It's pretty wide open space where you can see a deer very easily above the brush, but it would be miserable to dove or quail hunt in if that makes sense

One time I got to it and opened up the door and turned around and looked and there was a bobcat staring at me where I had walked up about 20 seconds ago. I was impressed with the sneak/stalk because i'm usually pretty alert out there because of hogs.

I was in a deer stand by the creek once... And I saw this large cat moving my way.
I said to myself: "What's this Puss Cat doing out here in these woods?"
He walked right by me and I saw how big he was and the pointed ears... I said: "That's a Bob Cat"..

Then I thought.. I) have three things that I can do right now.

1. Shoot him - Naw, thats not sporting and your not going to eat him.
2. Jump out of this stand and grab him and take him home.
3. Just let him walk on by..

I chose number 3... Never seen him again.

But while I am on hunting stories.. Same creek and I sitting by the bank of the creek in front of a large dead cypress tree.. With a large hole in it... I smoked a doobie.. The sun was shinging.. a lovely day..

Little racoon came out of this hole in the tree... Looked at the morning sun. He took both his little hands and rubbed his eyes... Yawned.. and laid down on a limb in front of the little hole and he went back to sleep...

I walked away quietly.

Well...you wouldn't need a rabbit dog if you owned a bobcat
