Dentist chains are horrible. Independent dentists are usually much better.

I don't mind my dentist charging his rate for basically coming over to bullshite for 5min after the hygienist is done. I just consider it a retainer fee and for using his office and the associated expenses.

Independents seem to be harder to come by though. I imagine its a huge PITA to find and keep employees. Not to mention if you get sick there's no one to fill in for you. The lure of going to work for a chain and not have to worry about all that must be attractive. My guy is constantly looking for help on his FB page.

I used to go to Perry with a great record. Changed insurance and went to some bro in Gonzales who said I was riddled with cavities and had to get work done ASAP and said I needed to schedule that day.

Went to Kidder for a second opinion and had a clean bill. Dude in G-Town was as shitty as G-Town itself.

So let’s say MANY are con artists.

How do you think they can afford to pay the dental hygienist girls $45+/hr

If they were smart they would collude to break away from the shadows of a dental office and start standing up dental cleaning offices.

In Louisiana at least, hygienists can't legally work without a dentist on site

While my office was shut down after a hurricane, I worked at La. Dental Center briefly. With the exception of a couple guys there, I wouldn’t let one of those places work on my dog.

Dentists are like Dermatologists, they will ALWAYS find something to work on.

I’ve never had braces, cavities, gum disease, my wisdom teeth taken out. Nada.

Haven’t been to the dentist in like 15 years. Floss and brush your teeth. Don’t eat shite. You’ll be fine.

Pretty much every shyster in Baton Rouge was bottom of their class. Spencer Callihan flunked out of Southern-how is that even possible? Cleo Fields didn’t pass the bar until his final try. E Eric used to take pride in the fact that he finished last in his class.

Tried them once. Hard pass. Go find a dentist with his or her own practice.

My hygienist told me on Tuesday “think about me when you floss that back tooth.” I wanted to say, “At many other times as well.”

She wasn’t wearing a ring. Pretty sure she wanted me to bend her over the exam chair but there are no privacy doors to the room so we couldn’t. Lol

Also, a tooth that needs a root canal can always just be pulled. If it's in the back of your mouth and won't mess up your smile, you can always just pull it rather than do a root canal.

Why mess with ingrown toenail removal when they can just amputate the toe?

Many are paid on production from I’ve been told. I’d be curious to know if that is true.

A family member is a dental hygienist. She says a lot of Dentists are scammers. Giving fillings and other works when it is not needed.
