I still don’t know what’s going to open between Panda Express and the Mexican type place.

My bet was Starbucks but Dutch Bros and CCs are right there with 7Brew around the corner.

Starbucks was slated to open in Arlington Square last time I looked. I was annoyed because they were going to have a total of 5 coffee shops (Dunkin is supposed to be coming).

I don’t realize Hungry Howies permanently closed. Dominos right there with the drive thru is so easy but we’d randomly eat HH every couple of months.

Yeah, Hungry Howies filled that niche of being open until like 3am or something. Many, many nights we would order Hungry Howies once we got home from being out.

We would order then everyone would fall asleep and be woken up to a delivery driver banging on the door

I miss pluckers. Still have no clue how they closed. They had steady business until the end. It was always a commitment going after the bar though. You would be waiting for 2 hours for your food if you went in after 1am.

IIRC the company wanted both stores to update a lot of stuff and the franchise owner decided to close them instead, but I don’t know how accurate that is.

There was one in front of Southgate Tower in the spot where Blazin Hot Chicken is now. I don't think it lasted a year. College kids don't eat donuts and they can't survive on coffee alone.

About only thing since their 5 for 5.

You could make two good sandwiches and have 6 half-buns to feed to the birds.

Sounds like everything around there is closing, good thing I moved
I was really happy with all the options around there when I lived in Southdowns.

Having a well run Arby's is a luxury Louisiana will never know.

The one in Houma is okay, but operation wise, I find Arby’s a little on the pricey side.

Damn, there are way too many places to get 10 dollar coffees.

every time we go into Rotolos Craft and Crust on Burbank we wonder how they remain open

Was just talking to my mom about that yesterday. They have a huge menu and bar that does not seem to equal the amount of business they get. Their pizza is very good though and I like how you can choose different styles.

Also, as others have mentioned the Peruvian place on Perkins and Essen was very strange when I went. In one corner of the restaurant they randomly had a DJ booth and strobe lights with a place to take photos almost like mini a Miami club type vibe, but they were playing music that sounded like a Spanish version of Nazi Germany era propaganda marches. All around weird experience and I did not enjoy the food.

"Everything" is not closing down. There's a CFA, Whataburger, Finbomb, Waffle House, Fuego, Panda Xpress, Albasha, Jimmy John's, Jason's Deli, Dave's Hot Chicken and Chipotle right in that area. If all that is too low rent for you Mike Anderson's is just down the street.

[edit] Can't believe I forgot Cheba Hut. My gracious.

McAllister's in general is pretty good, but that location has the worst service of any FF restaurant I've ever been to.

Ah, that makes sense.

Plucker's (both BR locations) handed Covid horribly. They went overboard, and they were still serving food in styrofoam boxes with flimsy cheap bagged utensils in like .. late 2021 or something crazy.

They also must have had management issues because we'd sometimes go in and we couldn't self seat in the bar because every table was un-bussed. Servers would just walk past dirty tables.

I wish I could find the photo of the takeout order that was our final straw It was so bad.

Don't get me wrong. There are plenty still going up over there. The area is very busy. Almost too busy to the point that you have to be worthwhile competition to succeed.

It was mind boggling how bad the service was the one time we went. It's like they just pressed random buttons in the computer when we ordered and gave us whatever came from that.
