Does anyone have an opinion on which is better - the Apple Credit Card or the Amazon Prime card?
I also posted this in the Money blog but sometimes the other blogs don't get much traction.

If you are paying double digit interest on purchases, both are horrible.
Compounding interest can be magical (earning) or destructive (paying) for your future self. Magical > Destructive.
As for $ thruput and benefits earned thereof…Will defer to the CC sleuths.

The user interface with the apple card is fantastic. Only worthwhile if you pay via Apple Pay though for the 2% back, which I do on everything. I have an Apple HYSA set up that you can have the cash back be directly deposited in to.

I have an Amazon card I use only for purchases on Amazon, which you get a 5% reward on that will accumulate and then use the credit as you wish. I don't use it for anything else though. I also pay it off every month.

If you’re into crypto at Coinbase you get 2% on everything and more if you have other cash/crypto/stocks there. That’s what I use now.
I was using the Apple Card before and the UI is great. But you can’t use Apple Pay for everything, especially large purchases, so you’re stuck getting 1%.
I’m getting 3% on everything now through the Coinbase card.

I make all my Amazon purchases on my Prime card, then pay them off within the month. That 5% cash back is worth it for me.

Same, but I also use it at Whole Foods. I also usually take advantage of the slightly slower shipping option on Amazon to get 6% cash back.

If you are carrying a balance month to month, you are stupid.

Amazon 5% cash back on purchases at Amazon, also use it for gas and dining for 2% cash back. 1% back for all other purchases but for everything else I use a different card that pays 1.5% on everything.
Pay in full each month.
