re: Apparently, there are 6 of these (probably more) underground 'cities' in the USA. Why?

Driver is heard saying there are 6 more of these across the country. Might be more, but making commercial use of abandoned mines is reasonable. All that protected space certainly has value.

Just not something i hear discussed all that often. Or ever.

It seems to get a fair amount of traffic and isn't tucked away in the wilderness along some long winding unmarked road, at least.

You say, without any evidence whatsoever.

That's your best comeback after making a ridiculous claim?

You're dismissed.

Did the Ford River Rouge tour a few weeks ago. There are salt mines like these near Detroit that store F150s.

It just makes sense. Temperature and humidity controlled year round. Perfect storage.

OP lives a sheltered life if he has never heard of these places.

She's been tearing up X lately with her hilarious review posts critiquing woke Tik-Tokers and the like. She's what used to be a normal Liberal, one who is based and doesn't mind having some fun.

That's Space City.
It was a basalt mine, now it's used for warehousing and other things.
I've been in it a few times. There are businesses located in there, like small box factories, printing shops and things such as that.
It has it's own railroad.
It's like a maze with really tight turns and limited room for error in an 18 wheeler.
ETA: First time I went in there was a nightmare. No room to maneuver at all, It took me a while to get into my loading dock properly. I had never done anything like that before.

The downtown Houston tunnel system has been pretty dead since Covid. That’s all I got.

Awfully coincidental that both Springfield and Louisville undergrounds are about 1.5mi from an airport.

It’s mainly used for storage because of the large space and stable cool client with no electricity needed

Wait until you learn about Slab City, California

quote:

Slab City is a unique off-the-grid community with no public utilities, attracting winter snowbirds and offbeat individuals. Law technically applies in Slab City, but government involvement is minimal, creating a self-governing atmosphere among residents.
