Pretty sure that was his predecessor, James Buchanan. Didn’t even bother to have a beard, never married. Or maybe he was the original “never trust a woman” OT baller.

I’m going with gay.

While many people expect that Lincoln must have had a deep, stentorian tone, Lincoln’s true voice was high pitched and reedy. It was this voice that Daniel Day-Lewis used to portray Abraham Lincoln in the 2012 film “Lincoln,” and which provides a close approximation of the real Abraham Lincoln’s voice.

If the voice Daniel Day-Lewis used is truly close to Lincoln's, then it wasn't that bad. I didn't really consider the voice to be that high pitched. It's not overly deep or anything, but I didn't consider it to be what one typically thinks of as being "high pitch."

He killed more Americans than all other presidents combined. He suspended habeas corpus and arrested press members that spoke out against the war. He invented the executive order as a way to bypass congress. He fired several generals that wanted a more peaceful strategy as opposed to marching on the South. His wife was all in to the occult. He was a textbook shitty president.

He defeated an insurgency and preserved the union. Not a shitty president imo.

uh, how come every other government on the frickin' planet, got rid of slavery without killing hardly any of its own citizens?

Seems like it was very doable, doesn't it?

that Lincoln chose to spend several months of the year practicing law on a circuit that kept him living separately from his wife.

That sounds like a guy that just wanted to get the hell away from his four kids and wife for a while. I'm not holding that against him.

It was not unusual when two men were spending the night in a boarding house. It was unheard of when two successful men like Lincoln and Joshua Speed did it for an extended period. Or when Lincoln and David V. Derickson shacked up together in the White House during Mary Todd Lincoln's absences.

In addition to Speed and Derickson, Google the name Elmer Ellsworth.

Lincoln was a pipe smoker plain and simple.
