Understood. My question is where do you logically go with that? Where does it stop? What is enough? Everyone who identifies as being 'offended' by something ……? These things are symbolic of our history as a Nation, seems to me the Marxist playbook (erase the past and start over today) is near the center of all of this faux outrage. Semper Fi to the good things in life, virtue, kindness, understanding, tolerance, learning, discerning, and so on. Not destruction and lawlessness.
I agree with everything you just said. There’s a lot bullshite being peddled to the masses in the guise of political correctness, and it’s making a mockery of our principles as a nation. My stance on this particular matter stops specifically with Confederate statues. All these morons tearing statues of the Founding Fathers and other great figures who had a positive influence are either uneducated or part of this ridiculous Marxist movement.

You could say the same thing about the American Revolution. But you're a hypocrite.
No I’m not. The Founding Fathers who led the revolution would give birth to a set of ideals that would create the greatest form of government in human history. The Constitution, the Bill of Rights the Second Amendment, etc. That far outweighs the negatives of the war. The Civil War was a tragedy. There was a lot of heroism and many men who earned honor and respect on both sides of the conflict. But if was a tragedy and the darkest time in our history. They are not the same.

Just in case you haven't been paying attention, it's not stopping at Confederate statues.

can you tell me why?
Because many of us, well over 50% of Americans, don't understand why we allowed governments to erect statues celebrating racist, traitorous figures who oversaw the imprisonment and killing of American citizens and soldiers.
Well, we actually do know why. Because the vast majority were erected during the Jim Crow Era, as a reminder to them "damn kneegras" that the white man still has their thumb over them. Politicians had decades to take them down and didn't. So, you get protestors taking the initiative to handle it themselves.
The only bad thing I see about the whole issue is the idiots who don't know history and just target a statue for the sake of it being a statue, despite the person memorialized having had a positive impact on our union and/or the people.

i don't really give a shite about statues, to be honest
I live in the heart of the South and I couldn't take anyone to a statue if they held me at gunpoint. I've never had the inclination to even google to find out where they are. I just don't care.

Yes. They should have all their likenesses destroyed. It won't change history, though.
You are basically making the argument that once the mores of society evolve, everyone who used to be revered should be canceled. In 100 years they might think that eating vegetables is evil. At that point, folks like you will think that everyone from the current era was evil and should have their statues torn down.

Let’s put all of this in perspective.
Every single bit of the below is from one rogue cop putting his knee on the neck of a convicted felon with a history of violence and criminal activity
Statues torn down all over this country
Looting and burning people’s businesses to the ground
Rioting, throwing shite at cops, burning vehicles, defacing public and private property,
Killing cops and civilian alike
People kissing black people’s boots, making FOOLS of themselves in apologizing for their genetics, and shite they have no personal responsibility in.
Beatings of anyone that gets in their way or dares to speak against their actions, many times leaving them to bleed out in the streets
Kneeling on little white infant’s necks, saying all kinds of vile, evil, and hateful rhetoric aimed at white people and cops in general
Shaming anyone in sports who doesn't agree with BLM and who refuses to bend their knee during the national anthem.
Ridding the country of anything confederate, be it statue, name on a building, or flag, but not just confederate. NAY, anything to do with the founding of this great nation is under attack.
Changing sports mascots to appease the filth.
I have absolutely nothing but contempt for anyone who supports such garbage in America.
It’s no longer about black lives mattering. If only it were about that, we could find common ground, but the actions demonstrate that it’s most assuredly NOT. It’s about everyone else’s lives meaning nothing, and wantIng me to value one life over all others?. Not happening. You’re the most intolerant bigots to ever breathe air in America, and you’re polluting it by doing so.
And as for the parents of those people, they have contributed perhaps more than anyone in putting the screws to the greatest country this world has ever seen, and who’s done more than any other country to make the world a better place to live for all. By failing to raise their children with values and a set moral standard for their children to live their lives on, they have created these monsters. Why is it important to have a strong father figure in homes with a strong mother figure as well, raising their kids up right? WELL, here you go. This is why.
Horrible human beings, and it’s exactly the reason I have absolutely nothing but contempt for the Democrat party. It is a cesspool that does nothing but spread hatred and division in this country, promotes being unaccountable for your actions, and has NO ANSWERS for that which ails America, just contempt and finger pointing, and for that which THEY themselves had a heavy hand in creating in the first place. The absolute ONLY reason that Democrats have power is they spread fear, hatred, and division in this land, without which they would be an extinct political party. That you can be sure of.

No ideology has oppressed and murdered more of it's own citizens than Communism in the 20th century up to the present.
This statue in Seattle hasn't been touched by those woke motherf**kers who claim to stand so stoically for "human rights". And I think everyone who's honest knows why.
Here's my message to them: We know who you are- and you'll never win this fight you seem to be begging for.
Believe that.

I don’t have an issue with removing Confederate statues.
Yeah...apparently Robert E. Lee wouldn't have had a problem with it either.
"As regards to the erection of such a monument as is contemplated, my conviction is, that however grateful it would be to the feelings of the South, the attempt in the present condition of the country, would have the effect of retarding, instead of accelerating its accomplishment; of continuing, if not adding to, the difficulties under which the Southern people labor...All I think that can now be done is to protect the graves and mark the last resting place of those who have fallen."~ Robert E. Lee on a proposed civil war memorial in 1866
"I think it wiser not to keep open the sores of war but to follow the examples of those nations who endeavored to obliterate the marks of civil strife, to commit to oblivion the feelings engendered" ~ Robert E. Lee on a proposed Gettysburg memorial in 1869.

Yeah, that's not true at all.
Many of these Confederate monuments were erected at a time when the romanticization of the southern forces fighting for a lost cause came into bigger fashion. People like you have thrust your stupid theories into common thought. I'm sure you think the 1619 project is some sort of historical analysis masterstroke as well.

We need more statues of winners not losers. How would you feel if there was a 10 foot tall statue glorifying Curley Hallman at the biggest entrance to LSU? That's what we got right now on the doors of court houses all throughout the south.
Now there is a bunch of shite that needs to end for sure like vandalism but we could do a better job immortalizing Americans that actually were great and we're also winners.

That statue is constantly getting “vandalized”. Hell they dress it in drag a good bit.
If you think that statue is honoring him you are way off base.
